Hello All,

Welcome to this evenings Mobbenfuhrer Medal count where we will tonight crown the best and fairest player of Season 24 and etch their name into the leagues history books.

It has been an incredible season for numerous players, and it is set to be another close race to the ultimate individual Sweet F.A accolade. From goals, to an absurd amount of disposals, we've seen it all this season. We have seen three players (RedVest4, sportsmaniac,WFL) notch up 40 or more disposals. cats2rise put on a show for Mount Buller Demons fans in Round 13 against the Furies booting the 10 goals, the highest of this season.

Last season we crowned dual winners in pantskyle, Noobz0r. Will we see the same this season, or will there only be one superstar standing come Round 16?

These events, in particular the quality of them, is not possible without the help of various contributors, so I'd like to extend thanks to the following:

The Filth Wizard for the write ups for Rounds 1-4.
fitzroybowiedog for the write ups for Rounds 5-8
Ant Bear for the write ups for Rounds 9-12
Mooch for the write ups for Round 13-16
haydo23 for his extensive work and time put the voting graphics, he worked tirelessly alongside me doing head 2 head graphics.

Tonight we will present the following awards:

  • EKA Medal - Yakker
  • Frankston Rover Medal - haydo23
  • TFLUA-Tiger Award - KohPhi
  • Fred Medal - Hatchy1992
  • Sweet F.A Players Association - beez Trophy ranks 1-3 - 1. The Filth Wizard 2. Ant Bear 3. Cloud_
Good luck to each and all in the Season 24 Mobbenfuhrer Medal.

ROUND ONE

Finally it was the Bombers chance to unfurl their flag at home to the Wonders producing a match thread some impartial readers described as "big". The Bombers ending up unfurling a lot more, with a 52 point shellacking of their rivals the order of the day. The Wonders misery will probably continue as there was no real stand out for them, the Bombers expected to share the vote spoils with Tony Lynn 15 (24d, 3t), Harolad (22d, 8t, 1g) and LicoriceAllsorts (19d, 3t) all chances to shine.

The Swamprats travelled to Coney Island in the next fixture and wasn't this an epic, a late game scare seeing the Warriors eventually winning by eight points. It was a bit of a statfest too which would have pleased Frankston Rover, none better than RedVest4 who cupped the ball 45 times and some really nice games by FreoFalcon (32d) and Le Grille (24d, 9t, 1g). For the Rats new recruit Dingster (38d, 2g) had perhaps his finest game ever followed by Ant Bear (27d, 8t). The votes for this game will be very interesting.

The Dragons vs the Roys was a game and there was a new look to the Roys who had discovered a tin of spam in the kitchen. It seemed to work as the Roys gleefully picked apart the Dragons and dined on them in a fifty point win. Azarole (29d, 6t) was irrepressible and a firm favourite for top votes although captain fitzroybowiedog (23d, 9t, 2g) bullied the Dragons and is also a show. Best for the Dragons was cammo6556 (15d, 11t) who did his best to match the Roys battering rams.

The Hawks talked a lot of talk over the offseason so this was a vital match to win as they hosted the Mt Buller Demons. As it stood they jumped out to a big first quarter lead and despite a last quarter Demons surge were never challenged. Loonerty (23d) and tgrs (23d, 1g) kep the ball moving in the middle for the Hawks with maybe brahj (13d 8t) a threat to votes. sausageroll (25d, 1g) tried vliantly for the visitors as did Oddhawk (15d, 12ho, 1g)

The league was ready, season 25 finally upon us. The games started with the randomiser throwing up the Furies and Bears as MOTR, a tight struggle which saw the Furies scrape through despite some inaccuracy in the second half. Avatarp (20d, 14t, 2g) was immense for the losers and may find himself with three votes however that will be challenged by big performances from This Is Anfield (23d, 15ho, 2g) and a seven goal haul from Wacky Tiger.

Two clubs of boys went head to head at the Golden Throne as the Royals welcomed the newly renamed Gumbies in what was regarding as the friendliest match of the week. It was a close one too, nine points the final margin as Blacky (7g) started his Fred Medal attempt in solid form. Thatsapaddlin was immense with 25 touches and a goal and Dirty Bird (19d, 7t) a huge chance to figure in the votes. Meanwhile Noobz0r managed 28 touches and five tackles from defence (wink) with Bucketss (31d, 8m) and Fryer Tuck (29d, 19ho, 1g) huge chances for votes.

Round TWO:

G1:

The Bears and the Royals continued a close round of fixtures with the travelling Royals too good in the end, continuing their unbeaten run by 12 points. OES was in some incredible form grabbing 9 goals and there was some big work done by burningdwarf (21d) and Footypie32 (23d, 1g). Doctor Gero was definitely the best for the Bears with 21 hitouts, 23 touches and 6 tackles so a very good chance for them.

We kicked off round two at Mt Buller as the Demons were looking to open their account with a win against the travelling Furies. Unfortunately this was not to be as the Furies ended up continuing their form with a nine point victory. Veterans Smartys Power (15d, 2t) and DemonJim (19d, 5t) will be content with their games but the experts expect to see the Furies dominate after some high quality games from Sterge (23d, 8t), NaturalDisaster (16d, 6t, 1g) and Nuffers (22d, 3t) all among the chances at votes here.

It was one of those rare instances where match of the round really was the best show and that is down to an epic encounter between the Roys and the Hawks with the Brunswick side scraping through by five points after a last quarter Hawks surge. A Bit High turned back the clock with 20 disposals and 11 tackles to go with a couple of goals and he had a friend in nannah (20d, 17ho, 1g). For the Hawks the duo of spookism (33d) and brahj (27d, 5t, 2g) are a chance for votes.

G4:

Meanwhile the nine point margin was the flavour of the day as the Rats fell to the travelling Dragons by that number, continuing the poor start that eventually saw the Rats take the wooden spoon. It was another achingly close loss for them but the Dragons were inspiring and inspired by league admin Hate who was everywhere with 15 hitouts, 27 touches and three goals in a very likely best on ground performance. He was ably assisted by WFL (25d), Blaze Storm (21d, 5t) and Jatz (24d, 2t). For the Rats Butler (18d, 7t, 11ho, 2g) and Fizzler (18d, 2t, 1g) were tireless and may sneak into vote recognition.

G5:

The Warriors were waiting for the reigning premiers in the Bombers and they gleefully picked them apart before the Bombers knuckled down to bring respectability to the score. For the home side miggs was in huge form with 39 disposals and 8 tackles and KohPhi (15ho, 21d, 3g) is another possibility for them but there is no discounting the Warriors trio of ItsMyShow (31d, 4t), PackedLunch (12ho, 30ho) and RedVest4 (32d, 3t, 1g) all shining, the latter likely to be leading the count at this stage.

Lastly the Wonders hosted the Gumbies in what was a close game all the way to the last quarter where the Wonders jumped away, eventually claiming the win by 17 points. NickCC was the best for the Wonders with 17 touches and 8 marks and Nakia was in solid form too adding 19 touches and a goal to his ten hitouts. For the Gumbies Noobz0r continued to amass midfield quality stats from defence and SM tackled away but nobody really shone through.
