ROUND THREE:

G1:

FwKaLx9.png

The Dragons had the measure of the Bombers for their whole round three encounter, a burst of goals in the second setting the theme of what would eventually end up a 39 point victory. WFL was the star of the show, his 41 touch, ten mark performance punctuated with two important goals. Hate also continued his form in the ruck, 19 hitouts and 21 touches, also in the goals with two. For the Bombers KohPhi tried to keep up, the All-SFA ruckman still their main man with 26 touches and a goal.

The Swamprats travelled to Waverley desperate for their first win and were valiant until the end, a hugely inaccurate Hawks side skipping away by 12 behinds. For the Hawks it was brahj (30d, 5t, 3g) and DapperJong (29d, 3t) doing the damage, assisted by BRAB with 5 goals. The Rats saw some nice games by philreich with 20 touches and 8 tackles and bergholt's 18 disposals and two goals.

Match of the round saw second vs third, the Furies hosting the Roys and it was an epic with three points being the margin to the home team. Impressive displays from Nuffers (24d, 2g), Sterge (22d, 6t, 1g) and This Is Anfield (14ho, 22d, 2g) got the Furies off to the right start. The star again for the Roys was fitzroybowiedog with 21 disposals, 5 tackles and a goal in a solid performance that ended agonizingly short.

The Demons had one thing on their mind as they battled the Royals - get that first win and they did it emphatically overturning a deficit at three quarter time and winning by 18 points. There were heroes everywhere but cats2rise was immense with 8 goals, okeydoke7 turned back the clock with 32 touches, 12 marks and a goal and DemonJim had 26 touches and 10 tackles. The Royals will probably miss out on votes but they might see a nod go to Thatsapaddlin (21d, 2g) and pantskyle (17d, 8t).

So what can we say about the first game of the round, the Warriors v Wonders? Nothing at all. They were naughty and it got deleted so all we can see is the Warriors won. Probably Vesty did ok.

Finally the Gumbies hosted the hapless Bears and had no problems accounting for their rivals in a one sided encounter, 35 points the difference after the Bears recorded a scoreless first quarter. There will be claims for votes by Fryer Tuck (19d, 9ho), StFly (18d) and Golumless (14d, 5t) but for the visitors RU_ battled valiantly, 9 tackles in the clinches not enough to stem the bleeding.

ROUND FOUR:

G1:

sRT7eQR.png

The Gumbies did everything they could except win in this huge match against the Demons, another epic that saw the Demons claim the victory late, in the end by only three points. The visitors saw big games by Dennis ClarkeM (25d, 3g) and Fryer Tuck (12 ho, 24d) and a big 17 tackles between SM and Golumless however DemonJim (21d, 7t, 2g) was the hero for the victorious Demons. There was a lot to like to in the 20 disposal, 8 mark game of Yakker.

Yep, it's round four which is traditionally the stage of the season when the wheels start to fall off the Roys campaign. It's also the stage where the Royals start winning games consistently and get their hopes up of finally making a grand final. Both came to fruition here as the Royals ran home 5 goal winners, There was some nice performances from Thatsapaddlin (28d, 1g) who might be getting some vote love at the moment and from Footypie32 (23d, 1g). There might also be votes in the offing for pantskyle in his 16 touch, 11 tackle game. For the Roys Wise Guy Sam tried very hard with 26 disposals.

A tricky game for the impartials who love seeing he Furies lose but also love the idea of the Rats crashing to the fastest wooden spoon ever... the latter got their wish as The Furies cruised to a 26 point win courtesy of consistently solid outings from This Is Anfield and Sterge. A 20 touch, 6 tackle performance from All-SFA virgin philreich was solid enough for votes too.

Finally the Wonders hosted the Bears in another nailbiter, winning by six points in a game that was tight from start to finish. Avatarp tried his guts out, 23 touches and 8 tackles to go with 2 goals and a 19 touch game from AngryRanga was also solid however the Wonders should see D_P_S claim the three votes with his 6 marks from 31 touches. Five goals from Croweater 41 might also see some votes come his way.

The Bombers hosted the Hawks in a thread many could consider the size of two, a consideration which can only have led to the boycott match from later in the season. It was a topsy turvy match too which the Bombers eventually blew out in the last quarter led beautifully again by KohPhi (15ho, 29d, 5t, 1g). Standing by him were LicoriceAllsorts (29d, 1g) and miggs (24d, 7t, 1g). The Hawks didn't have much to offer despite Biggie's 19 touch 2 goal performance.

The Warriors welcomed the Dragons to Coney Island expecting to continue their winning streak but of course the sim never goes to plan for Frankston Rover's men when the Dragons are concerned with the visitors kicking on by 21 points. Pie 4 Life (11ho, 19d, 7t, 2g) was likely the difference, an early swap into ruck seeing him equal his S23 DT total in one match and Hatchy1992 ended with six goals on his way to the coveted Fred Medal. For the Warriors handball happy RedVest4 (24d, 4t, 1g) could see more votes although former Mobbs Medalist FreoFalcon was their star with 25 touches and 9 marks.
