I have never been more devastated to lose a player than Warwick Capper going to the bears.
Ruined his career as his contract polarised the group of misfits. Used to see his flash car parked right next to the ground when they trained on the main oval at Windsor Park relegating us Juniors to the second oval.
Was the beginning of a very dark period for the Swans as the ship started to sink and the private ownership started to go belly up.
Bill Woods reading out a letter from the Swans to the Bears promising that they will be doing their very best to beat Collingwood to send the Bears to their first finals series and sadly for the Bears it was the old 1st v 8th format as they were in hot form and gave a good account against the Blues.
Pretty Much sums up the clubs where they even tried to manufacture a state of origin rivalry. It just doesn’t exist. They meet often in the reserves and basically have the same obstacles in the VIC centric world of the AFL.
This thread is exactly it. It’s just kind of a couple of teams fairly respectful (see Simon Black and Brett Kirk) and the fans are generally good natured.
Anyway back to where we were at Lions suck for various reasons mentioned here.

Black listed Kirk as his hardest opponent and they swapped jumpers in Black’s last year. Then Kirky did this intro and Black can no longer find the jumper. I can’t defend this.
Swans will dismantle the Lions so bad they'll be on the blower to crazy vossy to come do a full list rebuild.

That's what shoddy development will do to a talented youngster. Swans tried to revive his career but 6 years at the lions was too high a toll on the poor kid.

I know this deserves a ban and isn’t in the spirit of this thread.
But if my beloved Swans can’t make the GF I’d be right behind the Lions to get it done.
