day, martin & (hopefully) lynch to come back in 2 weeks. sling brodie in there as well and we've got a bit more of a functioning side, especially in the forward line which was non-existent today. will be good to be playing back at home again!!

I presume 10 at metricon and one at Cairns? So as members we may continue to get free entry to gabba q clash
Not that it has been decisive in the past, but 13 games in Queensland was the norm for a few seasons, with 11 at Metricon, Lions at the Gabba and Tigers/Bulldogs "away" in Cairns.

I'm probably happier with that than I should be.. Heck felt good enough to have a scotch.
Feel like we are more than a chance against Geelong at home. Hope the place is full. Even if we have to give away tickets... Fill the joint. What's it like up there? Are they pushing the game with advertising etc?

I saw a couple of bus shelter ads.
Hopefully they push it in the coming week and into next

The Suns have played 5 of the top 8 away and won once, and split the other 4 games 2 and 2 away from Metricon. Let that sink in. There are 13 games left, a heap of players will return from injury and we have 7 games at Metricon. Add to that a very good preseason and I'd say Dew's coaching performance is easily a pass mark and probably a B overall. There is room for improvement, rookies blooded, a bye to recharge and some really positive signs for the club to build on.
Keep playing the Queensland kids. Local pride and they won’t run back home to mummy.
The list is far from awful, it just doesn't have games, preseasons, experience and a real identity yet. BTW, the NEAFL team is leading by 2 goals at the end of the first quarter in a game nobody said we could win. Sydney have shown that if you can get sustained high quality NEAFL games into players they will emerge into AFL standard players. We are getting games into Academy players that will stand them in good stead if they can get drafted or rookie listed.

would this explain it
Not really
I just meant it doesn't look like they're playing the short game with selection
It appears to be about what they want in 2019/20
You can't really call it a rebuild because that usually presumes there's been some previous success
I don't pretend to know what they want from Brodie

.
The season's over really
Players returning from injury are always 4 weeks away from any sort of match fitness
I can see us winning a couple more but injuries breed injuries and we are destined to have a half fit list for the rest of the year

Just realised more players who should come in after the bye.
Lynch, Wright, Lemmens, Barlow/Brodie, Fiorini, Joyce, KK, Martin all come in
Scheer, Crossley, Ballard, Heron, Young, Rosa, Leslie and Sexton go out.

That is a lot of changes yes but all those coming in will drastically make us a much better team, especially in the forward line. Ah Chee goes forward, Barlow plays as a forward rotating with Lyons on the ball. KK plays the roaming defender.
