I think it is fair to say that Martin's late withdrawal and the choice of underdone Rosa killed any chance we had of victory. Martin nailing a few goals and having 22 fit players would have made the scores closer at least, so the late change had a domino effect. Bring on fortress Metricon!

Was lucky enough to be in Shanghai and watch your guys today. I have to say that they had a red hot go, very physical contest and they were in it until early in the last. Really missing some big boys on your forward line. Far from disgraced

Exactly thanks for that, we should get Lynch, Wright, Jack Martin and Lemmens back after the bye who will all significantly impact our forward line

Could not fault the teams endeavour gave it there all just lack of strength and experience meant eventually they would tire.
Full marks to Aaron Hall probably one of his best team games for the club.
Defence was superb under the onslaught, margin could have been much greater.
Ben Ainsworth last two weeks have been terrific just gives us a bit of spark around the packs.
Young fellas except for Ben all struggled under the conditions (lack of strength very noticeable.)
A weeks break will be needed to freshen up.
Problem for the club will be to get a lot of our injured players up and firing for the rest of the year.
Following the bye
Martin Day Barlow KK And Brodie will be fit and available.
Lynch will play if fit.
Wright ? probably needs a week in NEAFL
Fiorini and Lonergan ???
Lemmens 2 or 3 weeks in Neafl before his considered.
Think we can fix our forward problems quickly but it is the midfield where we will continue to struggle.
Without any top quality midfields it is very hard to see us beating the better sides on a regular basis.
Just a final whinge don't normally complain about commentators BUT
We all no Robbie Gray is a top footballer but the rubbish Healy and Dermie carried on with yesterday
was sickening May beat him fair and square but all the praise went to Gray who did not even trouble
the scorers ( Got it of my Chest)
Time to go and enjoy our beautiful Gold Coast (25)

Spot on about Maysie and Gray Nobbys. May was obviously under instructions not to follow Gray up into the midfield but Derm and co. Labeled him as too scared to do it. It's like they don't understand modern football tactics and come into matches with a view that this is how it is, then refuse to change that view unless presented with overwhelming evidence against. Some of these commentators are past their use by dates.

Bittersweet result yesterday IMO. On the one hand you could see our effort was undeniably there for most of the game but on the other hand our skill execution really let us down. I know this was due to a combination of things including a 9 game road trip, playing overseas, an inexperienced/young 22, missing some of our best players and no genuine target up forward to kick to. So maybe you can excuse the result and take solace in the fact that we fought really hard for almost all of the game. That's how I see it anyway.

Can't wait to get back to Metricon in two weeks!

This is my last column on the Will Brodie issue.
Like most suns supporters am dumbfounded by the non selection of Brodie particularly in the last couple of weeks.
The final straw for me was the weekend.
When Martin withdrew on Sat could not believe Rosa was selected ahead of Brodie when we badly needed some
physical presence in such a lightly framed young list. Why bother taking him??
As Ive stated previously we as supporters no little what goes on inside a club, what we see is what happens on the field
and occasionally at training.
As someone who played and coached in Vic country for close on 25 years from what Ive have seen he certainly has deserved
an opportunity in last couple of weeks with so many players unavailable.
With a lot of senior players returning in the next few weeks hard to see him getting many if any games for the rest of the year.
Must admit I had high hopes of Brodie as a long term player for the Suns.
Starting to get a bit nervy about what lies ahead .

For this club we hardly know anything that goes on.. the silence is deafening which probably makes it worse for us fans because we’re continually guessing and wondering why over a lot of things
