I’m really enjoying the amount of QLD players in the 22 lately - seems like dew is really committed to having a core group of local kids down the line that don’t want to run home to mummy.

Touk's been in incredible form lately.. finding plenty of the pill and doing some negating team roles. I wonder if he goes head to head with rockliff in the middle? 17er Sunny_ ?
I think you answered your own question, although perhaps the fine line between marking an opponent and tagging is the important distinction. If Touk tags Rocky, limits him to 10 touches and gains 20 himself, it's a small win. If plays his natural game and competes for the ball with Rockliff, ties him up when he does win the ball and is a general pain in his arse, while collecting 30 touches himself it would be better. It is important to realise that Rockliff had only 49 touches over his first 4 games for 67% playing time before bursting back into form last week after 3 games off, so he's only averaging 16 touches. If Touk keeps him to that we have a chance.

Last week, Touk had a few opponents but no tag, which meant that he was very good defensively while getting 16 contested possessions and 30 touches overall to be the best Sun on the field. Who was his opponent? Nathan Jones for a bit.

Dew rotates a lot of players through the midfield, which you notice more during live games because you see the usual mids resting forward or thrown back. Port have an inch or two advantage around the ground in key places and the midfield is one of them. We could see players like Young, Holman, Scheer and Harbrow rotate through stoppages and centre bounces just to mix things up, while players like Ah Chee, Hall, Martin and Weller will rotate across halfback and up the wings - each one likes a goal too.

Unfortunately, Rockliff is about 10th on my list of Match up concerns. We don't have 2 Steven Mays or 3 Jack Martins, there are at least 5 injured players who I wish were available - Lonergan would eat Rocky for lunch and be disappointed there's no return match - but we have to play the kids and hope they step up.

Rocky and Gray are concerns for sure - I wouldn't mind Touk trying to do a job on either of them.

Ebert is the guy that usually gets off the chain against us though. Probably their unheralded mid given the other names floating around but he slaughters us every time. One of those classic mid fats that has always licked his lips when playing us. I wouldn't be adverse to sitting Touk on him.

Not expecting a miracle today.
Just Hoping
1 A lot lot more competitive effort than last year.
2 A number of our young players show some good signs to give us confidence going forward.
3 We somehow can score in excess of 70 points
4 No more injuries PLEASE.
Yes, I agree with this. If we keep the loss under 5-6 goals I'd be happy given the injuries and the team we have named. And no more injuries!!
