Taylor Walker's dangerous tackle on Morris

And people wanted to listen to Rowey's supposed evidence about what Minson said to Pearce. Did he make a phone call there?

If I didn't know any better I'd believe BACCS was Rowey.

Haha, he actually has a slightly higher goal average against the better teams than the lower ones... But yeah, pick out his one bad game for the year and ignore his 10 other good to very good ones.

Buddy hasn't had any below 10 disposal games with barely any scoreboard pressure?

Can't remember Buddy playing a game like Walker did against us, particuarly after 40 games or so. Walker didn't play against Collingwood, so we can't judge how he would have gone there. Don't think he played against Geelong either and given the soft draw Adelaide has, he is yet to play Essendon or WCE (both at home and noting no return games against Hawthorn & Collingwood). Granted he played well against Sydney though until I see how he plays against all the top sides, I'll reserve judgement.

Cant believe the Adelaide Coaching staff thought it was a 'good tackle' live.

What bull.

Edit: Lol they just played some media clips from South Australia on AFL360 saying the ban is 'typical Victorians' trying to make the crows go bad. Laughable.

blatant thuggery LOL. you mean like this?

Check out the Leigh Matthews' greatest hits videos. Now that was thuggery.

That's more of a DDT, Walkers was more of a suplex.

Top shelf comedy radio.
Comedy implies they are doing it for the laughs.

That isn't for laughs. That is the rantings and ravings of two of the most one-eyed people given a microphone.

conspiracy my arse. cornesy (a victorian btw) is just playing the shock jock to his half wit talk back radio audience.

back in the real world, the verdict of 4 weeks is still unreasonably severe for an incident in which the player involved sprang up and played out the game with no ill effects whatsoever. sure it didn't look good, and it was stupid to lift the little leg flailing muppet, but at the end of the day no animals were hurt in filming. mrp is an inconsistent joke.

Right outcome, unjust means of arriving at it. I hope Adelaide appeals so that the flaws in the methodology are put under the spotlight.

ADRIAN! YOUR SYSTEM'S BROKEN AGAIN!!

Yep got it one. Unfortunately we have a track record of not appealing.

(BTW I'd like to see an appeal for the same reasons as Ron the Bear - not because I beieve he should get off - like Ron the Bear the outcome is correct - its the methodology which is fundamentally flawed as a number of us pointed out last night).

Game is getting softer more and more every year. Should have been 1 to 2 max. Hope we appeal. If Morris just decided not to take the ball and let Walker grab it and run off would have made the situation much easier.

Have a whinge ya big sook. The fixture is the fixture of which we have no control. Good luck in getting top 4.

He kicked 5 against Sydney, 3 against Geelong. The Hawthorn game was not one of his best but heck everyone has a bad day. Shit even Buddy didn't kick a goal against Sydney and take his 13 goals out and he is averaging less Taylor Walker per game this year.

sherb:
I'm sorry, that's just a cop out. The non payment of a free kick is no excuse for a spear tackle. He could have maintained the tackle without lifting him.
Well had you bothered to read any of my other posts in this thread where I've said Walker should be suspended, perhaps you would have realised that I agree that it's no excuse for his tackle. It holds absolutely no relevance to the point I was making about umpires not blowing the whistle early enough though.

sherb as you know from last nights posts, a number of Adelaide's supporters agree wholeheartedly with you. Your post is unhelpful and out of character with your posts of last night. There have been a number of us who believed he should be suspended right from the start. If you have a look at my posts right from the evening of the incident you'll see I've consistently said he'll get at least 2 weeks - so I was spot on. Similarly headache1 and others have consistently stated the same. In fact it could be argued that we (me, headache1 and others) are far less one-eyed than a number of other clubs supporters in this thread who do their clubs no honour either by their poor display.

The constant griping in this thread that all Adelaide supporters are blind to the dangerouness of Walkers tackle are in themselves blind to the truth and selectively reading from their own biased teams perspective.

Sigh... anyone want to start a thread to seriously and sensibly and unemotively discuss this incident and the current system used by the AFL to deal with it? A couple of us (supporters from Hawthorn, Essendon and Adelaide amongst others) made a start last night. All emotional vitriolic dickheads from all clubs, who are simply out to put the boot in, Adelaide included, are not invited.

We'll make top 4 and would gladly play Crows in week one. Don't even bother putting in some shitty comparison with Walker & Franklin, best compare him with Hurley or Hawkins, more his ilk.

:thumbsdown:A bit disappointing if my club, Richmond's evidence played a big role in Walker getting three weeks and if it were payback for the KIng incident. I don't like what the Crows did last year, dobbing masked as 'clarification' but if anything I am consistent and I don't think it's an approach mine or any other club should take. But ironic he is facing three matches, part due to Tiger testimony!!!
FWIW .. the tackle in my opinion was worthy of suspension. Shouldn't and couldn't be condoned!

Take the 3 and run.

That was flat out 6 in the NRL. He would have been sent straight up. NRL refs now call held as soon as a player is off the ground, anywhere past horizontal is a penalty, do what walker did and take him to the ground with power. See you in 6 weeks.

Agree. If that's what did happen, it wouldn't surprise me if our doctor was 'encouraged' to include something incriminating by the AFL, like when Campbell had his arm twisted to give evidence about an incident he didn't see (Libba/Knights).
