Based on what?

Oliver has demonstrated elite SC scoring ability. His main obstacle is minutes.
He has no tank.

And you really comparing him to Fyfe?

Wow.

I didn't compare him to Fyfe.

His scoring ability isn't the question. It's the minutes he plays. Good preseason with better fitness and looks to go 100+.
He's a second year player for crying out loud, 2nd year blues could still hit him.

Just because he dominated JLT when no one is really trying doesn't mean jack IMO. Rookies are the only ones you should take into consideration.

Second year blues is totally overstated.

It's an opinion thing, it didn't look like the other players were just letting him get it. He was genuinely finding the ball while others couldn't stop him.

I can see why a lot of good Sc teams will pick Oliver. He is built for this format.

Agree to disagree.

Let me guess you've got Nank/Sandi in your team?

To be fair, i feel like this could be the year to take risks. Lots of midpricers, rooks are useless so far and none inspire confidence.
Yeah rookies are shithouse.

Depends on team selection. Butler types will be everywhere, how many games they play is the question

It happens every year.

And I tend to just ignore most teams on here, and rarely make too many suggestions, but just enjoy the general discussion.

People keep on suggesting the same players - eg. someone picks Sidebottom, someone suggests "for a little more get Treloar".
That's why you end up with all the same teams.
Like last year when Me and Jiska suggested Brad Crouch and helped screw dozens of teams :$

Ahhh. It says a lot then.

Risk risk risk. Go for it :)

well I eliminate the risk of Sandi by having Nank as backup and I have loaded my forwards to accomodate Nank moving to the rucks.

I don't currently have Oliver, but I can understand if people decided to go him. Just the same as a Jack Steele.

They ain't proven at the end of the day - Oliver/Nank/Steele

Just safe picks for me, but I guess you gotta be risky somewhere.

Beams/Roughy are my only "risky" picks. Rest are proven premos.

I've stopped looking at other teams now .......too many look the same and have a "group think" look about them

Still looking at peoples thoughts on individual players .....but time for us to make our own judgement calls & gut feel
I think MILLS and PETRACCA are going to be great breakout pods.

Here is my team, I know I have J. Witts but I believe he can score higher and more consistently then an under 200k forward. Even if he turns to shit, I have Nankervis there and witts will become a forward rookie. Thoughts???

I like your forward line a lot but I'm not too keen on Turner. Do you have the cash available to get WHE or Taranto? I just think Turner will be a slow burn while the other 2 should get a decent amount of midfield time and score 10-15 PPG more in my opinion.

The rest of your team is good too!

Well you are a North supporter, so I suppose I will take your word, I was banking on him scoring 70+ which i thought he may be capabale of and not many teams have him, but i'll change it to WHE

I couldn't afford WHE so i downgraded Greene to Higgins and upgraded Turner to WHE, leaving 50k left over. Thoughts?

He is not a bad pick by any means. His JS looks solid, I just don't think he will perform as well as those 2 rookies that will spend more time in their teams' midfields. With Wells, Greenwood and De Goey (not that he played too much midfield) out I think WHE will see some midfield minutes - although a Collingwood supporter may know more. Taranto played well in JLT and i think he has a higher ceiling than Turner too
