Its pointless to make a team for next year without knowing who get delisted/traded, and who we pick up.

If you did this at the same time last year, you wouldnt have known about Mal, Gumby or Hislop from that team listed above. It is just a pointless excercise IMO

True, but it does give you some scope as to who you want around for next year and gives you a greater idea of who's going to be delisted. The team in 2008 probably won't reflect that, but you'd think anumber of those players will be in the ball park.

I like that team.

I would add another tall in the backline in place of Hislop and have Rama ahead of Pev or Monfries. I'd try squeeze in Jetta also.

Ive decided to give an extended bench, assuming our first game will be a Sunday game

-Winderlich would be good charging off half back through the centre.
-Hislop and Dempsey im hoping will be able to develop and improve quickly, play some good footy and hopefully grab a spot in the 22.
-Nash has great disposal and great poise which is why iv'e stuck him in the middle.
-Iv'e left out players a few players that have very poor decision making/disposal eg. McPhee, Pev except for Dempsey, purely because i can't overlook his performance on the weekend in which he looked to be a great player with alot of potential, just needs to get his kicking right.
-McPhee (if he gets his disposal right) will slot in around half forward or the bench, or i wouldn't mind seeing him traded for a 1st rounder if possible.
-Iv'e chosen Dempsey and Stants on the wing/s because there disposal by foot isn't that great and because they're on the wing and not on traffic less pressure will be applied which will mean greater chance of it being an effective kick.
-Watson is best used playing off the bench in bursts, coming on later on when the intensity of the game has slowed down. He can't play a full game in the midfield like he has been because when gets worn out it shows because he is so slow. When this happens, we will know we have a good midfield.

Mcphee is a gun y does everyone seem to want to trade him

He does everything right but make the right decisions, his disposal is actually quite good but he lets himself down with his decision making which makes it look like he has poor disposal. He probably would be a gun if he got that right, but ATM, he's just an average player because of it. We should look at trading him whilst he has trade value only if the price is right, but if we can't get something great in return for him then he shouldn't be traded.

Pick Charman up because he has played finals? That's ridiculous. Rowan Jones also played in a grand final do we pick him up? If we trade Hille its because Laycock has taken over as number one ruck, why would we trade him for another guy who would want to play number one ruck. Either trade him for high draft pick and older backup ruckman, or get a young ruckman in the trade.

Yeah but they dont have trade value. You dont trade the owrst player on your list, you delist them. To get something in a trade, you have to give something. McPhee is not at all indispensible to the team. He is caught ebtween positions as he cant play a KPP role down back, but also doesn't have the speed and decision making to play an attacking role of half back.

I would really like to see Ryder put on a few kilos over summer and take on the ruck. Hille would play as the #2 ruck and Laycock would play permanently forward with the option of rucking if injury or form required.

Fletcher would continue to play as the loose defender with Lucas taking Ryder's CHB spot. I also feel Welshy would do well with a return to defense.

I think it's time McPhee became a marquee player of the competition and with Hirdy retiring nows his chance. I would start him in the midfield and move him around through attack or defense as required.

1. Hille isnt a ruckman? Lmfao what is he then? And why have we played Hille as a ruckman for like 5 years then
2. We can not put Gumbleton as our CHF in his 2nd year of football ffs. Lucas will play forward since it is his best position we do not need Ryder Michael Fletcher and Lucas all in 1 defence.
3. I didnt have room for Nash in my backline so i put Nash in our interchange whats wrong with that?
4. Ricky Dyson? Lets face it the guys no good at all. Just sick of him time too let him go.
