No, what I meant was....if Clarko as a rookie coach in his first 6 years....missed 4 years of consecutive finals, would he keep his job at a club like Hawthorn?
So under the same circumstances, do you think they would have kept him?
Yes mainly cause they would have cut deeper into the list, so would have need that time to get going the way he wanted them to
As l now realise we should have

We aren't Carlton. Or Richmond. Or whoever.

Today was great i enjoyed it. I'm not discounting the emotion and the respect of it all.

However, you do realise we were 12th last year with less wins and are 13th this year with more wins?

How does this constitute "improvement". All it means is the comp is more even this year.
Actuall your wrong, we have the same amount of wins last year not more. More points would be more accurate. If that draw we ****ed up is considered inprovement we have some seriously low expectations.

I'm happy with Nathan being given two years.

No angst at all on that score.

To be clear, players are 80% and coach is 20%

Players win flags if they are A grade and elite
Yes we know you're happy with mediocrity

If Bucks gets another 2 years so be it,
Just from on tv he wanted to distance himself from the players when they celebrated the team song after the game.

If he is re-signed and can deal with it even if I don't agree with it.

Yet, who is responsible for the development of these players to get the best out of them?

I don't think he would have survived. History shows nobody survives that long.

They were going to sack him after already winning a flag within 4yrs.....

If you believe their prez at time, ok, but l don't, never was going to get the boot

Well we've finished 1/2 game better off than last season and yet 1/2 game less than 2015.

So basically we've remained stagnate for 3 seasons and will miss finals for a 4th consecutive year.

Hardly anything to bring one joy.

This is what I'm talkking about.
I can understand enjoying the moment but to suggest "improvement" like it's a badge of honour is really clutching at straws.

Do yourself a favour and compare where we stand this year Vs last year on most of the key statistics. If you can't see improvement then you seriously need to see an eye specialist.

9 games won in 2016. 9 games won in 2017. Equates to no quantitative improvement.

how many games did we lose?
How many premiership points did we finish with?

You and the other W/L obsessives have now been smacked in the face with the the stat you have used to bag Buckley - we have now improved based on your own benchmark.
So you can squirm and a wriggle as much as you like - W/L was your benchmark and KPI.
And for the record we won 9.5 games whether you like it or not - that's how every sensible AFL supporter view our year.
That you persist with the 9 wins line is puerile and absurd.

Every week teams play for premiership points - if a Draw had no significance then each team would get zero points.
We had more premiership points than last year so we have improved - you can try to massage, manipulate and distort as much as you like but you cant change these facts.

AND what is also irrefutable per the above is that the slide is over.

I'm not counting game that highlights Buckley's tactically ineptness as improvement.

Sorry weren't you always on the wins and losses didn't matter train?

Funny how your tune changes to suit your agenda...

want to know a great fact. we won 9 games, we lost 12! and drew 1.
Thats a fact

Was it Nathan himself who said he would find it hard to get a new contract if he did not make finals in 2017? Just looking to confirm?

Funny how some so called Pies supporters are so upset that we won today. Seriously disrupts their agenda. Anyway, for the true supporters, enjoy! We had a great win today and we have a right to celebrate our obvious improvement over last year. I feel sorry for those who obviously would have preferred that we went backwards to suit their agenda. They will just have to put up with the fact that they were clearly wrong. I for one will sleep very well tonight!

I am not upset at all, very happy that we beat MElbourne and hopefully cost them a place in the finals. Was happy to see our side thrown around a bit when things went bad and wow wee look what happened. we held on for once ! amazing what a bit of experimentation will do.
What i am not happy about is that our club cannot make what really is a easy decision because it is blinded by a name. Its not 100 percent Buckleys fault for being reappointed (its partly his fault because he wont admit he has failed and resigns AND HE HAS FAILED) .

Sorry but I see nothing to support your basic premise. If only someone somewhere could give me some evidence.
