How he plays is irrelevant. As long as he draws a key defender away from franklin. As with Reid. That 1 kick by Tippett on Saturday was some performance.

We aren't in great form at the moment but if Luke Dahlhaus isn't in AA calculation something's wrong.
I think Dahlhaus has been AA worthy on the forward flank quite personally but in no way has he been better than Dangerfield. Dangerfield's standards are set much higher because he's proven to be better in the past, but he's been in the best two or three every game bar round four I'd say.Agree with a lot of what you say but we pick AA on form and Dahlhaus has been better than Danger after the first 5 games, the other are ahead probably.

Being the best midfielder in your team doesn't get you a spot in the AA team though. As Saint said, you can't fit 18 midfielders into the team. The Bulldogs are 5th on the ladder and Dahlhaus far and away our best so far this year. And besides Picken in last years finals he was in our best in the Herald-Sun every final last year including GF. I think he flys under the radar and is grossly underrated. Picken is a good example everyone is saying Picken this and Picken that. Dahlhaus is better and consistently so.

Dangerfield leads pretty much every supercoach or points system there is.
If he didn't have those (about 8) weeks out with his knee last year he would have made for sure. He's so consistent.I'm not saying Picken this and Picken that.
As is the case every year, there is up to 20 midfielders that have some claim on an All Australian spot at this early stage. 12 weeks will separate the wheat from the chaff to some extent. If Dahlhaus is still producing every week, he has an excellent chance. I could nominate Mitch Duncan from my team as being in a similar position. He's having a sensational year and if he continues his current averages across a 20+ game season, he would be very, very, very stiff to miss the final 22. But there's too many ahead of him right now.
Flying under the radar and being grossly underrated isn't enough to be an All-Australian. Sam Mitchell's only made three teams in his career and he could have easily made twice that number. Dahlhaus is barely doing anything better than Dangerfield and there's several important midfielder categories where Dangerfield is miles ahead. So I'm interested to know why you picked him out of all those names.
Zach Tuohy, anyone?
Would be in the 40-man squad right now, I'd think.

There's potentially 4 lions (Rocky, Zorko, Martin & Beams) who could be a chance at AA yet we are 1-4. Thats too many from a team that far down the ladderDayne Beams worth a mention too. The main reason why we've been in games this year and been in winning positions.
