Trade McDonald to whatever team wants him, Jetta and Jones will most likely retire, that will free up some cap space for us to get a classy good ball user.

I imagine we'll look to trade down if possible for this draft. No point trying to move up the order when nobody has seen the kids play for over a year.

If we can get a free agent and use a few late picks on speculative small forwards/defenders, then I'd be happy with that.

I hate saying it, but wouldn't be against trading TMac for the right price either. Salary cap space, and also I have high hopes for Harrison Petty as a forward who can occasionally go into defense as well.

Then you need to watch a bit more footy. Perryman would most likely cost a first and second rounder. What you're suggesting would be laughed at. Harmes is fringe for us now and Hunt isn't even in our 22. Nor is Preuss. Players don't accumulate value if you keep piling up trash players in a trade. Its like gws offering us Hately, B.Daniels and Aiden Corr for Petracca. yeah, no! doesnt work like that. Your suggestions is why trade week lasts a week. Brayshaw for Perryman is more like it.
I'm aware how it works. I'm not suggesting we trade Preuss/Harmes for Perryman. But I'm confident a Preuss/Harmes combo would get a 2nd round pick. Preuss alone might get a 2nd rounder from a team like Geelong, Hawks or GWS.

Actually have never really known anything about Perryman's game; remember him being somewhat clean/skilful in last years finals series.

Apparently he's a winger, so if that's the case I'll assume most of the hype on this board is primarily due to his immense defensive work and other stuff that my naive eye cannot spot on TV? Don't really see him impact the game with ball in hand the last few times I've seen the Giants.

TMac would be on pretty decent money I would've thought. I'm confident it will turn for him; he hasn't actually had a game with as many opportunities to lead up and fly at the footy barring that demolition of the Pies. Has he ever been that agile anyway? He's still judging the footy in the air decently and IMO better than Weed. I don't think you trade him for peanuts, nor do I think any team would be interested in him in current form unless we're paying some of his money.

Harmesy alone should get us a second there's a few times that would be idiots not to go after him, but Preussy a 2nd? After the Blues got Pittonet for nothing?

Preussy didn't even look that good on the weekend, difference between him and Grundy was enormous in terms of pure ruck craft IMO.

Perryman was leading the Coleman halfway through the year, he's a gun.

Will be hard to find a taker when he's on +750k per year for another 2 yet. Think we will just have to buckle up and hope he can recapture some of his best.

Trade radio is such a meme but if anyone here says they don’t listen to it in the car or at work they’re lying.

100% don't listen to it. Its an absolute snooze fest. Tried it the first year it came out and was bored senseless. Would rather refresh the AFL website every hour or so for updates than listen to that shit.

I used to listen to it when our list was pox and less and less as the years go by. The Buddy deal was genuinely entertaining. These days I'll only tune in if a Melbourne deal has gone though.

I'm in the same boat. Gave it a listen when it first started years ago but now it's 95% filler and 5% interesting.
The ROI on most stuff related to trade week is really low to be honest. I'm content these days to wait for push notifications from the AFL app or HS on most occasions, unless it's a particularly slow day at work.

Going through our OOC list....

Nietschke - Club apparently said they'd sign him up for at least another year when he did his knee but also that was pre-covid. 50/50
Bradtke - Delist
Fritsch - 2 year deal
Spargo - Likely keep but I'd wait until end of year to be sure
C Wagner - Delist
Bennell - 1 year deal
Petty - 1 year deal
Viney - 3 year deal
Jordan - 2 year deal apparently highly rated within the club
Lockhart - 2 year deal
Hunt - Trade/delist
Joel Smith - Delist
J Wagner - Delist
Chandler - Delist
Dunkley - Delist
Hore - 2 year deal
Hibberd - 2 year deal
Brown - 50/50
Hannan - 2 year deal
Jones - I'd delist him but probably 50/50 at this stage
OMac - 1 year deal
Bedford - 50/50
Sparrow - 2 year deal

So I've listed seven guys for delisting, four 50/50s so say two more makes it nine. Assuming they'll cut list sizes anyway but we seem to be in a pretty good spot for 2021 and beyond if we need to shed players due to the rules changing.

Apart from Bradtke I would say spot on. Plus I’m fairly sure he’s on the rookie B list which doesn’t count as a list spot.

I also think they’re more likely to go a pay cut over list size slashes. List is only 44 including rookies, if they knock off any more than 5 you will see teams get into real trouble - hell, North are struggling now.

Yep, highly likely that there's 25+ games next season to recoup lost revenue from this year.

Puts the AFLPA in a position to argue for retention/minimal cuts to list sizes in exchange for a few shorter breaks, which players have demonstrated this year they can cope with

Seems about right. It’s a shame because a few of those younger delistees have enough basic talent that they normally at least would been kept around for a few more years to see if they develop into something or as decent depth because it’s better keeping them at the club than using a fifth round pick to replace them, but hopefully the VFL comes back soon and they aren’t totally lost to football so they get to show enough that someone redrafts them someday.

So which of our 4th round pick gets those 2?
Combine two then throw in steak knives called Wagner.

You are such a downer Topkent. Why can’t I package up 5 spuds who I have forgotten are even on the list for an elite trade?

Calling them spuds might be your issue, try calling them potatoes with potential

I reckon we have the highest potential potatoes in the league. Low pick plus 3 high potential potatoes for Cameron seems generous.

What drugs am I on? Spargo clearly better now anyway
