Hi Phil

I want to be excited by your optimism, but your last projection of optimism was gazumped by our recruitment teams ineptitude... resulting in the biggest outpouring of depression I've seen on Bigfooty. And that's saying something.

I hope your positive vibes are received by Clarke and Pyke.
You haven’t visited the North board obviously.

Lachie Neale ain’t fast or tall guys. He’s elite in traffic and by hand though and moves with class. Different type overall to Reid but geez he has some of those similar attributes that just can’t be taught. Proper footballer. I’d definitely get him if he’s available. Reid, Reid & Hewett would immediately start to look like something imo
Can't be taught is the key, we have relied on 'developing' the untalented for too long. One Harley exposes the difference.

Imagine Richmond, who shafted us for Liam Baker, do one better and take the two players we want with their picks.

Anyways we should draft Reid.... Or maybe Shanahan as a tall midfielder

I'd rather imagine that we do do a pick swap with Richmond that benefits both clubs after both clubs got the deal done for Baker without burning bridges and future trade relations.

You tend not to do pick swaps with clubs that are pricks.

Next year we look like having the most draft points. Will put us in a very good position to take advantage of teams needing points (and any Warner pick).

As a result, would rather not trade out next years hand unless it's for something really compelling this year.

Not really as clubs won’t be able to trade out their picks like we are used to from next year. Plus lower picks are worth less than this year.

Best that can happen is to keep Clarke away from it.

PLUS that is all before FA horse shit ruins everything in the offseason and knocks our picks back even further when a mid nothing player, like say Alex Keath, leaves Bulldogs and they get pick 2 as compo.

Then the AFL could give Norf another tin rattling bail out bounty for being useless. A lot can happen to next year's draft hand between now and then.

I'd hedge the bets a bit and offload a couple of Hawk's Future picks to get back into the 20-40 range this year.

Agreed

Both seemed happy to move and both have had interest from us (as well as other clubs around our pick)
Regarding moving. My take it was a very scripted answer which was very different to FOS on Triple M who sounds like he was very keen to move anywhere.

Both seem to be very much in the non Vic team draft range so need to get their heads around it.

Murphys love of beaches and surf might be handy in retention.

How is Hotton's recovery going?
When would he realistically be playing again?

I’m guessing around May since that would be 12 months, maybe a bit later since he had a small setback early
