I asked him what it was like playing for the crows reserves. He said they were surprised they were doing so badly and they copped crap being accused for playing for themselves. Now I don't know if that's from opposition players, supporters or coaching staff

depends on the circumstances, it's not that hard to believe that some players might be out there trying to rack up stats in the hopes of getting picked and if the coaches genuinely think that some guys are out there doing that they absolutely should be brought back down to earth IMO.

of course if the coaches are spraying players to vent their frustrations or deflect responsibility from any of their shortcomings then I absolutely agree, very ordinary.

now as for some pure speculation, given the rumours surrounding Battersby's slide in the draft it wouldn't surprise me if a) this was the sort of criticism he may be likely to receive and b) the sort of criticism he wouldn't take to too kindly. Of course, assuming any of those rumours were true. Again though I'd like to think our coaching staff isn't ruthlessly and inappropriately grilling our teenage players, but if the situation calls for it they need to learn.

C'mon you ain't serious, let's say Centrals rorted it by $300k, you've just pointed out you have a $7M salary cap. Now of course only part of this would be part of your reserves, but what would Butcher be on annually? $300k? And he's only one player. You've also got the advantage of AFL facilities and player development.

The Magpies have been shit for years, you've been gifted this flag and if you can't understand that and acknowledge it, you need to tell your story elsewhere because you are in fantasy land.

Difference is that Centrals main aim as a club is to win the SANFL flag. Port's is not.

I agree with you that it seems that our club is not playing to win SANFL games. Seems to me that playing players in roles they will play at AFL level is of more importance to winning the games. I think our clubs have different wants from its SANFL teams. You guys by your decision to have a separate membership for the Magpies have a need to see the Magpies win. If you take money from supporters on top of a Power membership the onus should be on winning those games. Whereas we can use that team soley for development. The rise of Charlie Cameron is a big win for our reserves model IMO. Far more important than being on top of the SANFL ladder.

Kind of feel sorry for South. First time in decades they have looked good and probably wont have much of a chance of winning a flag.
