Not the best day1 test wicket.Tennis ball bounce but the wicket is slow..England with defensive field waiting for the new ball.No swing atm.
This has to be deliberate, because the last couple of tests at Adelaide oval have gone for 3 days or 3 days and one session on day 4, they desperately want a 5 day test

The curator at Adelaide Oval (Damian Hough) found that if they cut the grass too close the pink ball would get shredded really quickly. Too abrasive.

They've had to leave the grass longer so that the ball can handle 80 overs and go the distance.

However the longer grass means it doesn't come onto the bat as well.

For one dayers and red ball matches they take more grass off.

Maybe the ICC could do something about the multitude of far more important issues facing cricket currently.
Time wasting in an already long game is incredibly important.

If you're worried about crowds etc, time wasting meaning people see less cricket in the same time is not gonna help.

Yeah, they're only over 10% behind in the numbers of over they should be bowling. At least half an hour if not more behind. They're barely on track to bowl 80 overs in an entire day without weather delay or time wasted retrieving the ball. But sure, its because a review took a couple minutes.

I’ve literally just explained to you that in one session they completed a normal amount of overs -28 is perfectly normal. and given a pretty straightforward explanation of why they were 3 overs slower in the first session. Moan about it all you want but you want to piss and whinge about why they’re behind the rate and I’ve told you.

Poms starting to resemble a rotisserie chook that's been on low heat all day - Anderson looks absolutely stuffed, Broad is off the ground getting a rub, they are fielding Robinson at short mid-wicket so he doesn't have to run, Stokes cannot get away from the ball and Woakes must be playing hide and seek...

Can confirm that people consume a lot of Pimms out the back of the members grandstand, absolute bargain too at 35 bucks a jug…
I wondered why people just spend the whole day at the back but having spend a bit of time at the G at bars and not leaving I get it.
