Well this week after Rnd 9 HBF, my hunch tells me that our attendences will be 53137 - appr 971 more than Collingwood :D :p ;)

Will be more than that Aph. Will update this tonight.
IIRC, we'll be about 10k ahead of Collingwood.

Looks like my hunch was fairly accurate HBF ...... gee I'm good :D ;)

How many other clubs would get a crowd of just under 40 K to a night game at Etihad stadium with one of the least-popular/drawing interstate clubs in West Coast ???

Fantastic effort, North Melbourne would kill to have our kind of drawing power !!!

Suspect the St.Kilda game may be a sell-out or an all 'ticketed' event in a couple of weeks.

Fantastic crowd and kudos to the Carlton crowd being so raucous and supportive from the get go. I half expected a smaller crowd with arm-crossed (or is it cross-armed? )sookies after last week.

Been a bit slack over the past couple of weeks, and haven't updated this since round 10. Unfortunately, we have been knocked out of 1st place by Collingwood, but given they get Anzac Day, Queens Birthday and the game on Saturday night vs Sydney, I think we are doing pretty well. Even moreso when you think we played up on the Gold Coast.

Collingwood 606,616 (50,551)
Carlton 602,451 (50,204)
Essendon 577,847 (48,154)
Hawthorn 490,984 (40,915)
Richmond 483,214 (40,268)
Geelong 448,301 (37,358)
Adelaide 419,195 (34,933)
St.Kilda 404,732 (33,728)

Melbourne 403,759 (33,647)
West Coast 400,953 (33,413)
Western Bulldogs 397,619 (33,135)
Sydney 359,034 (29,920)
Fremantle 343,881 (28,657)
Brisbane 339,193 (28,266)
North Melbourne 334,588 (27,882)
Port Adelaide 311,551 (25,963)

Don't worry, HBF, we will overtake Collingwood with next week's game in which we will most likely outdraw them by at least 40k, given they play Freo.

Considering we have had a game at the Gold Coast, the fact that we can still manage to be second most attended club is awesome. It has been great to hear the huge roar of the Blue Army at every game, home or away.

But then in Round 14 Collingwood play Essendon on Friday night in front of 85,000 and will then overtake Carlton!;)

But there will be around 40k at the Carlton/Freo game at Subiaco, which will even it out again, given we will be 40-45k ahead after this week, then we play Richmond at the 'G' while you play the Bulldogs at Etihad. Even with the reduced amount of Richmond supporters present this time around I would envisage a minimum crowd of 60k, putting us ahead again.

Our last few games will hurt, playing against low drawing teams, that will probably see Collingwood finish in front of us come round 22.

Round 18 vs Nth Melbourne (ES)
Round 20 vs Port (AAMI)
Round 21 vs Melbourne (ES)
Round 22 vs Adelaide (ES)

Given that we still play Collingwood, Essendon, Richmond and Geelong, i'd like to think that we'd be able to get over the 1,000,000 mark again this year.

The last two are Carlton home games. Considering we have over 40,000 members, we should still attract 45,000 people at least.

How much do you want to bet that the pies wll again finish on top of the attendance ladder. Collingwood have finished first in attendances in the following years since 1990; 1990,1991,1992,1993,1994,1995,1997,2002,2003,2005,2006,2007,2008 (Home and away attendance record of 1,247,604)

How many years has Carlton finished first in attendances? 0

When Collingwood make finals no club draws bigger crowds and that includes Carlton and Essendon and Why? Because Collingwood have more supporters. But Carlton are drawing very good Crowds this year.
