The thing about a board, is that it's a board. There are a number of people bringing different skills at different times to bear. The last thing you want is everyone in lockstep as there is no innovation then.

Fair comment Chiwigi, I suppose knowing who says what at Board Meetings is not as important these days as we do not get to vote for the entire Board as was the case in the old days. Accountability these days appears to rest with the AFL rather than the Members. I am fine with that provided things run smoothly but it would still be interesting to know who says what on the occasions they don't run that smoothly.

Judging by some comments here that could be a good thing, we get a young up and coming female on the board, where most people would vote for an ex footballer because he has a decent pub business.

they're not, they're listed under "Least Concern" on the IUCN endangered list and declared a pest in some parts of Australia, including South Australia

As Koch said himself, she's been brought in to disrupt traditional thinking and challenge the board. She also knows how to engage with a generation who are crucial for our growth. They're just adding a contemporary perspective into the mix which can only be positive for the PAFCs strategic plan, which we have already seen has been developed by thinking out side the box. This is a really good thing.

It's not surprising that some people with the pro boys club, or "don't fix it if it ain't broken" mentality don't like this appointment because they fear it. But glad to see people being open to it as well because it is different. Time will tell.

I'm happy with the decision to diversify the board, especially if it is with someone who is closer in ideology to Justin Trudeau than Donald Trump.
