And yet you couldn't see it coming because you don't know what your looking at
No.. nobody saw it coming, because it was a complete and massive reversal of form. His form for the previous 3-4 months had been nothing short of awful. He played a magnificent game on Friday night, but it was a massive shock because he hadn't done anything remotely like it for a very, very long time. Heck, he'd never had a game like that before - contributing for four quarters and kicking straight. That was his best ever game, and it's daylight, more daylight, and even more daylight, back to second.

So in his 4th season you want him to be as consistent as 2 of the best small forwards of all time

Do you want tex to be as consistent as Wayne Carey and Hartigan as David Dench as well ? Maybe McGovern as Gary Ablett SNR
Stop creating strawmen. You're starting to look like an idiot.

This graph should help illustrate what an outlier that game from Cameron was.

Um - I did

I love it... Cameron spends his entire career showing all the consistency of a week old bowl of porridge. He has one good game and you & Jeffcrowe come crawling out of the woodwork singing his praises and saying how wonderful he is.

If he can back this up, becoming a consistent contributor, then well and good. But one swallow does not make a summer. So far the defining characteristic of his entire career is a lack of consistency - a lack of consistency from game to game, and quarter to quarter. One good game does not make him a good player. Right now, CC is worthy of an entry into Geelong's version of the Callum Chambers Club.

Yes, he's always had weapons. Guess what - I've always acknowledged that. Yes, I am happy to acknowledge the positive side of his game - unlike you, who is genetically incapable of acknowledging the many flaws. The problem is that he rarely employs those weapons in a way which benefits his team. The defining image of CC is him getting the ball, often in a contested situation, lighting the afterburners, running 45m, before shanking a shot on goal or kicking the ball straight to an opposition defender. This was almost the first time he has ever put it together, and it's definitely the first time he's put it all together for a full four-quarter effort.

Kudos to him. Well done on an exceptionally fine performance. Now he needs to show us that he can perform at an AFL level on a consistent basis, not for one quarter of every fourth game. Do that, and he'll earn my admiration. Until then, he's a bog average player who happened to pull out one really good game when it mattered most.

Doesnt this:

Contradict this:

Its not just one game, its 2 out of the last 3 finals. Was our best against Sydney and arguably our best against Geelong. Two massive games against two massive clubs. Performances in finals >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> home and away.

What did you contradict exactly, Sherlock? He isn't in the side as a finals specialist. Yes he played an amazing game and makes up for his lack of efforts this season. If he does the same in a grand final then I will say he is squared away.

As usual you are on the money.

Hopefully he has another outlier game this week & I'm more than happy to apologise again. :)

We are not crawling out of woodwork

We said he's worth persisting with because he is playing his role defensively and has another level to go offensively

If you couldn't see some good signs in his GWS game then you weren't watching closely

You're carrying on as if you made the right call and we didn't

How about you say , ' well it appears that I was wrong and he is a big game player and worth persisting with even though at times his offensive game may fluctuate'

'And yeah he does help us defensively week in week out '

Or maybe just keep quiet and hope people forget that you wanted him dropped

Also stood up (one of few) in last year's semi against Sydney. Lights it up on the big stage. Could have a chance at Norm Smith imo.

?????

He's nowhere near the money . He would have had him dropped and the game would have been harder to win

Purely speculative. This topic is saying you were wrong. Based on one game you can't assume anyone's opinions are wrong. Mackay is crucified week in week out while CC was given a free ride and after a couple of good games he is the messiah. I don't see people saying they are wrong about Mackay who has been consistently good over the last couple of months. For the record I said a while back CC would have a good finals period and glad I am being proven right and I hope he decides to stay with the club.

Vader writing Cameron off.

Going to be a gun for Brissy.

He won't. He'll disappear within 3-5 years at Brisbane.

As it stands, Cameron doesn't have the game to survive as a small forward in a dysfunctional/weak side (I do think Brisbane are improving, ever so slowly mind you).

He just kicked 5 in a prelim and is as tough as nails! He will be fine.

Fingers crossed staying.

Does anyone expect Daneil Rioli to destroy us in the grand final?

Because he had a similar game to Cameron.
