Probably the Saints are expecting the Hawks to go down this week, then Ratten will be announced senior coach. The club will need to pay out for Richo, so some of our players wil traded off to balance finances, though the finances are in a sorry state.

Hawks have got double chance, so it will be minimum two further games. I'd like Richo to be not coaching us next year, but I reckon he'll stay on.

You know how ex Dees players been going off about Neeld’s interview last night? That’ll be Cho in a few years. Reckon he’s extremely hated at the club. Piss weak bloke.

I think it's the Ross Lyon situation all over again, except without the genuine premiership tilt. That being, a really polarised playing group - Ross and Richo really, really have/had their favourites, so it depends who you ask. If you're in the inner circle, you luuuurve yourself some Cho. If you're on the outer, you can't stand him.

Speaking of terrible coaches, did anyone catch Mark Neeld on Open Mike last night?

I usually give Open Mike a watch on Tuesday nights before I put on a show I downloaded from the previous weekend (usually Better Call Saul/Game of Thrones)….... my wife, who has no idea about footy, even likes Open Mike as he’s a good interviewer and some good stories normally come of it.

But within about 10 minutes of Neeld she said “who is this guy, get him off, he doesn’t say anything” and I had to agree with her. He is one of the worst communicators and the biggest wafflers I have ever heard. How he got a coaching gig is beyond me. Even Sheahan was bored, you could tell.

Richo also has big issues on the communication front too. He doesn’t really ever say anything. You just can’t have a coach like that and at least Melbourne moved Neeld on relatively quickly to give them some credit.

If they do get around to sacking Richo this week Bassat is going to be the embarrassed one. Phone calls to Richo apologising and then having coffee to reassure him. The media are already having a field day. They will go into hyper-drive.

If there are 6 players at least wanting out I am thinking that it includes some who aren’t contracted. And we obviously think they are ok to lose. Then the others are contracted. And we will endeavour to keep them.

The fact that the media aren’t reporting player unrest makes me wonder. I have no doubt MG and others have good mail, but why no media?

And I am cynical about Player Managers wanting their players out. If we are awash with money they should have pretty good deals. Why go to clubs who are under Cap pressure? Doesn’t all add up.

I confess I am confused.
That's the million dollar question right there.

Who are the players that want out?

If and when Richo gets the sack that’ll be two horrific coaching appointments in a row. Jeez I hope someone different is picking this time.

Trying to come to terms with the sad fact that this imposter is going
to survive somehow!
Defies belief really....No other club in the comp would put up with such incompetence!
This Board and their inability to see whats painfully obvious to all and sundry
perfectly encapsulates why this club has always and evidently WILL always FAIL!

This time it's not the tail wagging the dog
but the Dog being so stupid it laps up it's own shit!

Good ol Sainters finding new ways to fail us poor suffering fans!

Ok i agree so why don't they do it then it makes no sense to make a decision in 3 or 5 weeks draft, trading period over, so if the so called board want him gone there not doing a good job getting on with it.

My call he stays
Nah I think they will wait until just before the trading period before they sack him. Then they will run a comprehensive selection process with an appointment coming well after the draft is finished, probably announce it a day or so before the Christmas break.

Will just say that if we don't hear anything by Friday evening then mentally prepare yourself for what is to come over the next 12 months.

Ffs.

I had a little faith before but it's now pretty much all gone
Thought all along that he will be coaching into next year

We are going to loose players and the circle of st Kilda ****ing it up again in a never ending cycle of destruction continues going around and around.
Pretty sad when you automatically think that the chance of us ****ing it up is about 90%

Also pretty sad when u are past the real anger stage and just shrug ya shoulders with a mehh when the 90% happens

Unfortunately, with typical Saints “luck” we are the victims of a perfect storm.

Two seasons of over achievement, just missing finals on the back of Roo and Joey and very little in the way of injuries... so that this season with injuries, difficult draw and very little leadership has convinced most external people that this year was just an aberration. In addition, the good guy persona that Richo has, has meant that there has been very little in depth look at our coaching failures and pressure from people outside the club.
