UPDATE 4.41pm: CHANNEL 9 says the Western Bulldogs compelled Barry Hall into ditching an appearance on The Footy Show opposite Jason Akermanis.
"Barry only became uncomfortable after he was advised by president David Smorgon at a function last night that it would be inappropriate if he appeared on the show. Little wonder he was uncomfortable," Channel Nine's head of entertainment Tim Cleary said.

Let hall on their and let him smash aker is he says shit.
On foxtel's Afl teams, Brian Taylor, Tony Shaw, David Parkins and Rohan Smith all bagged Aker and were united in saying the dogs didn't have another choice. They also believed it will unite the group.

Leigh Matthews said on 3AW that the bulldogs did the right thing also.
He said that Aker told the media confidential information about Nigel Lappins broken ribs before the 2003 Grand Final,and if Brisbane had of lost the grand final, He would have sacked Aker the next day.
On a positive on field note, he said that Akers finishing skills on both sides of his body were as good as he has seen.
Probably an ignorant question Ant, but what show were they on?

Umm I think they call it Thursday night live? I get TFS after the Rugby version up here on both the Nth NSW\Gold Coast channels and the Brisbane channels.

Ok so sam newman says there was 4 people that knew about the aker/leadership incident. He named 3 being himself/aker/steve price but choose to not mention the 4th person. His then saying who is leakking stuff to the media. Well maybe it's the 4th person you forgot to mention sam.

People question Caro, Huddo, any other journo you care to mention because of their lack of contact with football clubs. When does Sam Newman contact football clubs? Would any football club give him any information they would deem critical or truthful?

I am in the same position. The TFS comes on close to midnight here, so am following this thread(at the same time as watching the cricket) to get the TFS updates
There's a new thread on the main board dedicated to the Aker / TFS thing. Sounds like Sammy gave the mother of all rants and cut up his Doggies membership (god knows why he was a member in the first place!) - but also seems like Browny stuck up for the club. Onya him!

TBFB, so far Sam has had a crack at the Bulldogs, based on the line that if you are going to have a leadership group having a player sit out in front the entire group you will end up with a situation in which a player will inevitably be judged by a bunch of people that are not at the level of amateur psychologists. He went as far as saying a young player may end up committing suicide if grilled like Aker has been.
He's also questioned where the leaks have come from within the club, also believes the publishers of his book need to take some ownership of exerps getting leaked, if they have.
He also thinks the club is poorly run, as they cannot take responsibility for the way they have handled their own processes.

Lol aker has twice now said that he spoke to sam regarding the leak. Sam corrected him once as he overheard and then didn't bother the second time. Sam ****ed up and is now trying to lie his arse off trying to put the blame elsewhere.
