its good they honoured a real champion not one that has a gay realtionship with there president or one that publicaly bagged an umpire and therefore put pressure on them to give him more free kicks

I also noticed at the whole Western Bulldogs playing list etc stayed on the ground and Archer didnt thank them or anything. Im sure he didnt mean it but i thought he would atleast thank them.
he probably would have thanked them if they put up a better effort.

WAY over the top, for a player who hasnt achieved many indervidual accomplishments(would have had even less, if it were not for Wayne Carey) and been a average player over his career

I suppose six - yes, six - AFLPA most courageous awards mean stuff all. And Norm Smith - you can stick your medal up your arse.

Yes, I got sucked in.

It probably was....but who really cares???? Arch was a bit embarrassed but it was good for us Roos fans who clearly idolise the bloke. It was certainly more relevant and worthy than those pissy little presentations most sides have after a H&A game when some ridiculous cup is on line.

In the end, the Roos fans loved it, it wasn't meant for anyone else, the Bulldogs showed some class by hanging around, let's move on to more imprtant stuff.

Maybe if Melbourne people could recognise toughness, courage and character and had more peopel around their club with such traits they'd be sitting somewhere higher than 15th, have a coach and have won a premiership sometime in the past 40 years.

I didn't see it but it sounds over the top and cringeworthy.

Doesn't befit the man. I'm sure he would've prefered differently.

And the $1 thing is kind of pointless. Though one must understand and consider the financial situation of the club.

What is relevant is the onfield performance and we respected the man in the most appropriate way. This other stuff means little in comparison.

I thought the ceremony and medal were a bit over the top, personally. Others might say the same about ceremonies where Rocky and Buckets handed on their jumpers to players of their choosing.

I'm sure the Kangas fans loved it and, in the end, why should they care about how others view their choice of how to celebrate the career of one of their own?

You're a very wise man Grimfang and most welcome to marry my sister anytime! :thumbsu:

I heard it on radio and didn't sound over the top. He is a special player, you can understand why they have gone to these lengths for him.

As for not mentioning the bulldogs, well its not like they were the losing team in a grand final. Don't think he is obliged to mention them at all.

Remember today beacuse in a couple of years you will be lucky to see the Kangas play more than 5 or 6 times a year, unless you move to sunny Queensland! And that is NO JOKE!!

Hmm...yes well, whatever. In the meantime just remember this...

Kangaroos 17.9-111
Tin Rattling Bogans 11.19-85

Because every team will now have after game ceremony for there players who play 300 games, just you wait and see. By the way woof woof woof, not today!
