You’d do well to avoid media and commentary mate. I’ve avoided it and it’s much more relaxing.

Everything is always against us we know this.
I'll second this, i've been listening and watching less and less media and commentary the last couple of years, probably the second last straw for me was when they went after Ginni, the last straw was Bruzzy. I've been pretty calm this week, normally i'm pretty uptight and nervous about the game, but i guess that's cause my head was so full of sh!t and bullsh!t opinions, i'll even turn the volume down during games, so i don't have to listen to the imbeciles trying to talk over each other and the game.

I'll get nervous on the day of the game, but find i'm much better now.

TGG you seem to have this thought that other teams have A graders waiting in the wings on the vfl to play. No team can replace players like mcstay or adams. There’s only so much depth one team can have

We have depth. Noble, frampton as emergencies. Macrae worst case could play a role. Even Carmy at worst. Reef and AJ are injured or have been injured can’t help that. Kreugs break glass if needbe. That’s decent forward depth if they were fit..
Other teams don't seem to lose key players prior to a crucial final and have to replace them. And as you say, the few players who could have filled their spots are injured too. MacCrae or Carmichael are hardly a match on paper for any of Brisbane's mids. For the 2 players we lost, we don't have quality replacements, not in the positions they play. Maybe for a H&A game the replacements might seem adequate, but not for a grand final.

Just to be clear, I am expecting us to win not 'hoping'

It just pisses me off, we have a whole year on top, the club operating at optimum and the way it should be since god knows when, then at the pointy end we lose two key players, the week before, and they have a full squad apart from Ashcroft. And the weather is warm instead of cold which would suit us more.

Oh and good luck in GF's and Collingwood are definitely mutually exclusive. Period.

Just having a rant about it.

They don’t though, really; Ashcroft, Payne and Gunston would all likely be playing if fit.

Frampton was more than serviceable and helped us get over the line against Adelaide in Adelaide ,Essendon on Anzac Day and also against St Kilda in gather round ..When both rucks went down he more than capably did the job so you can add him as an afl standard depth player ..Theres an argument that reef and Finn are also..how much depth do Brisbane have ?...rich ?..lol
Brisbane's depth is not being tested - ours is.

I wouldn't play Noble on a man in defence. He'd be through the midfield.

Yeah if we had a lead in the 3rd quarter, play a five man forward line with Noble an extra in defence. Run the ****ing thing out.

Another Grand Final, how farkin lucky are we to support this magnificent club.

We might have to win this in a dog fight, but if that's how it's gotta be, then so be it.
Since the AFL was created we’ve been in 1990, 2002,2003, 2010, 2011, 2018 and now 2023… say what you want but we are a well run club.

Basically every 10 years or less we are having a genuine crack.

So looking likely to be Frampton in for McStay… well can’t imagine it being anyone else other than him or Noble.

Understand the reasoning for both arguments. Same structure, bring in a tall. Extra runner for the heat, bring in a half back/mid.

Gut feel is we go with Frampton for McStay.

Would love to get Noble in but can’t see us making more than 1 change and not sure who else I would bring out…

Would like to see Ginnivan start up forward but reckon he may be sub again.

at least we are not St Kilda lol

We’re going to need a bigger cabinet

People whinging about the need to rely on a Frampton in a GF...

Richmond DEBUTED a bloke in a grannie FFS...imagine how you ninnies would be carrying on if we were in that situation.

We dropped a bloke who'd played 80 odd in a row and haven't managed to fit him back in (probably).

The bloke we've lost was much maligned anyway.

Compared to last time we played Brisbane, we've just got our three best players back is all lol.

We're in fantastic shape

As Malt-ucius once said “The ox is slow but the earth is patient”.*

The team has been slowly preparing for this day for 2 years, increasing their training loads, practicing ad nauseam different end game scenarios, perfecting their smothering techniques. And now the fruits of their efforts will take flower (can fruits flower? Eh you know what I mean).
  • Naicos will amaze with delicate handballs floating like butterflies into the waiting hands of his teammates.
  • De Goey will bullock his way through opponents like Germany through the French lines in the Ardenne.
  • Murphy will courageously abandon his man to come across and spoil certain marks in the best cross over since Full House/Family Matters did it in 1991 (love you Steve).
  • Tay Adams will provide inspirational motivation from the sidelines like Presti reincarnated (Presti is already Billy Picken reincarnate so his spot is available for reincarnation).
McRae has them ready. Wade has them ready. Jackie Lauder has them ready. Beau’s mum has them ready. Their time is now. Make sure you are ready. Give them your all, every last breath of air into the Collingwooood chant, every last scintilla of muscle energy in waving your scarf, every last drop of positive energy sent their way.

Carn the Pies, carn the Carringbush, go you bloody Magpies, number 16 is ours!

*Or was that the Cox is slow but the goals are worth it?
