I reckon it will be a slap on the wrist, maybe a few weeks ban at most so they don't f*** up the season too much having a VFL standard Essendon team getting flogged every week with their kool aid drinking supporters deserting them in droves and losing the AFL money.

Meanwhile if you're a lone wolf like Saad or Crowley who made a minor mistake with a protein shake or a painkiller ÁSADA will come down on you like a ton of bricks with a 2 year ban.

Whatever the punishment Essendon and Hird will have their reputations tainted for life so that's some consolation.

Happy for the Bummers players to cop a light suspension, aa long as James Turd is removed as coach ..

Seeing the golden child fall on his sword would give me the greatest satisfaction
He won't fall,he has proved that he will have to be pushed ever so slowly onto said sword.
More satisfaction in this scenario for mine!.

$100 or $3000 it's still the flog that's in it that makes a suit.

A few thoughts.

Correct me if I'm mistaken but I'm under the impression penalties won't be revealed on the 31st, that the tribunal must reconvene to determine them.

We're all hoping for two years and dreading three games. That said even three games would open the floodgates for player lawsuits and possibly Workcover involvement. Not to mention Essendon being formally branded the only AFL club found guilty of systematic doping and James Hird being run out of the game.

Worst case scenario the charges are dismissed due to lack of evidence and the dark cloud of suspicion hangs over Essendon for many years to come.

I hope they get backdated bans since Sept, then WADA come down on the AFL with all its might and enforce two years.

Or a Hird 10 year contract extension.

Correct, but they'll be banned until that penalty is handed down.

They could conceivably be kept waiting 5 weeks, then get a ban that amounts to 3 weeks, oh the lulz that would come. :p

It'll get really entertaining when MCDevitt hands out the collected evidence to all and sundry regardless of the verdict and ol' Brucey goes supernova.
