Neil Balme said Stevie J was a lock in for this week.

I thought he would be a pretty good source.

Haha

Neil Balme

Whenever he says something is so than get scared

Because it often isn't the case

Not the most honest character in footy circles

Ottens is back in two weeks (after Round 4)

Stevie J will be back this week (after he missed the saints game)

Gary Ablett will only miss 1 game (last year) (ended up missing 3 or 4)

Just hope he doesn't mention a player you have in your team

Neil Balme says he is confident Jimmy Bartel will get up this week

Guaranteed he will miss

Thanks again Prompts, I owe you a drink or two! ROFL! :D:thumbsu:

LOL I reckon you'll be bitter if you got Ballantyne next week...

I can't predict the future, but if Ballantyne is relying on goals to get SC points (well that monster Docker's goal must be special)...

I forgot your team, but if you have Cox (and not Shannon), then save a trade...cox is always iffy when Eagles don't make finals

Yeah I have Cox in my team and only a couple of trades left. Not sure if I should trade him out now or keep playing with a doughnut.

What would you do all wise trade happy prompts if you were me? ROFL! :D

I have had my finger on the trade button a few times this week hovering around M.Clarks name and a whole lot of cash ($100,000) I can make in downgrading Cox to Clark.

Knowing my luck though I will trade out Cox for Clark and then Clark will get injured and Cox will make a super recovery and play like the champion he is.

Taken off the DT board -

DEAN Cox and Daniel Kerr do not have osteitis pubis and could play for West Coast again this season.
The on-ball duo will immediately start recovery programs.
On Friday, an Adelaide groin specialist, Steve Saunders, cleared both of the dreaded groin complaint that would have required immediate, season-ending surgery.
They could play again this season, but not in Saturday's derby against Fremantle.
Cox, 27, has been diagnosed with serious soft-tissue damage high in his groin, while Kerr, 26, has severe abdominal strains.
Their individual rehabilitation schedules will determine when they resume full training.
Saunders confirmed initial opinions from Eagles medical staff that West Coast's most valuable and highest-paid pair did not have OP, the modern footballer's curse.
Eagles football manager Neale Daniher said the club would continue to seek further opinions on Cox and Kerr's injuries.
"We're all pretty relieved that the news is encouraging," Daniher said.
"We can't put a definite playing resumption time on either of them, but it will be a rest for them and then build up program for both of them and we're hoping that they'll play again this year."
Daniher was reluctant to put a specific time on when Cox and Kerr might resume playing.
It is understood Kerr is closer to playing again than Cox.
Cox first showed signs of his injury in West Coast's home-game Round 9 loss to Collingwood in May, while Kerr has battled his stomach issues for the past two months.
Cox reported for training after the upset split Round 12 loss to Richmond in late June with expectation he had fully recovered from his problem after the mid-season break.
But the Eagles club champion and 180-gamer aggravated his groin back at training and missed successive games against Hawthorn and Melbourne.
The All-Australian ruckman for the past four seasons, Cox hobbled out of last Sunday's clash with St Kilda at three-quarter-time when it was feared his season was over.
"We're definitely not ruling them out for the rest of the season," Daniher said.
"But, they are two separate injuries and they will both have separate rehabilitation programs. How they go with that can determine how quickly they recover.
"It is encouraging that this second opinion concurs with our medical staff and that we have been on the right track in trying to handle and treat these players.
"It will be a rest for them and then build up program for both of them and we're hoping that they'll play again this year."

Good news for Stevie J owners like me -

From The Herald Sun -

"Coach Mark Thompson said on Tuesday that Brownlow medallist Jimmy Bartel and utility James Kelly are good chances to come back from injury.
He also rates brilliant forward Steve Johnson as a 70-30 chance to finally return from the hip injury that originally sidelined him for the memorable round-14 clash against St Kilda".

Once again the Herald Sun puts a different spin on the AFL article:

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/81096/default.aspx

"GEELONG could again be without mercurial forward Steve Johnson for Saturday’s MCG blockbuster against reigning premier Hawthorn.
Johnson, who has not played since round 13 because of a nagging hip complaint, was expected to miss a maximum of two weeks but coach Mark Thompson said he was no certainty to take his place this week."

However, this news is a little more promising:

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/81084/default.aspx

"FREMANTLE captain Mathew Pavlich is confident he will be available for Saturday's western derby and declared ruckman Aaron Sandilands a certain starter."

Pav you champion!

:):(:):(

Talk about an emotional roller-coaster in the space of 2 posts! Stevie J; Bartel; Pav & Sandilands are all in my team and pivotal to the most important league match I have this season!

Will still probably trade him..

Haselby set to miss this week because "the demands of the wet and windy conditions (from last week) had taken a toll on him."

FFS ... tanking anyone?

Really don't want to make a trade, but with two massively important league games this week, I might have to.

Apparently Haselby may leave for a new club next year as he isn't happy taking a pay cut.

Ablett in doubt with the calf again, most likely he will be named so choosing a good vice captain this week could prove to be very important, i will be going with ROK.

with 3 trades left and 489k in the kitty, i've also got adcock, grimes, foley and cox on the pine. that's a little over 2.4mil doing nothing. i may as well get goddard, sandilands and upgrade a ziebell or muston to a premium comes finals time.

I also heard tim watson on channel 7 saying that Steve Johnsons injury could be season ending - though Ling on before the game yesterday said he should be ok to play.

AARGH

One trade isn't going to fix Newman and Stevie J problems if both are out for the season. Gees I hope Newmans injury isn't serious cause he has been great since I picked him up. And to get injured right before the game. #@$$##@#$$$:thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

Where in the world did you hear Newman would be out for the season?

He's just guessing

Knee injury can mean ACL and PCL (which with 5 games left are season ending).

Hopefully its not one of those and its just jarred or something else thats not too bad.

Who saw it - paint a picture for me.

What happened? Walk off/Limp off/2 club medico's support his weight and take him off/stretcher off???
