Just saw on Fanfooty that Chad got injured in the showdown....Things are looking grim for my backline in the past few weeks I've lost Grimes, Adcock and will probably lose Newman and Chad

I think someone knocked his knee whilst they were running towards the ball.
Collapsed straight away and sat back up telling the medico something.
I'm not sure how he went off, but after the final siren, walked back on and was favoring his left a bit. Still did a interview with channel 7.
Nothing was reported on fanfooty about Newmans injury during the live game chat thing. That is why I am surprised he is injured and if he is then he must have been able to walk off or we would have been hearing more about it.
I really don't need this right on top of what happened to C.Cornes.

I just bought Newman in this week, so I really hope is going to be right. Cornes, Grimes, Higgins and Stevie J are all on my injury list now. I think Higgins will be a few weeks but I am really hoping the rest will be good to go.
Stevie J surely has to be right this week.
I will be making a sacrificial offering this week to the SC Gods in an attempt to make sure Nemwan and C.Cornes are ok to play next week and that Grimes, Gilbee, Grima and Rance are all playing next week too.

Think positive, JM. I just scanned to Port board, and noone has really mentioned Chornes as a potential out. Fingers crossed re. Newman.

Godddard, Fisher, Newman (injured), Cornes (injured), Gilbee (pulled out due to the death of his old man), Grimes (injured), Broughton (Grima (dropped), Rance (dropped))
2 Krispy Creme dounuts in the backline killed me this week. I was amazed that I scored 2261. Would have been over 2300 if I had of kept Ablett captain instead of picking ROK * Mental note to myself, you are not IMPROMPTU! ROFL!

Yeah, we had a similar weekend. Gilbee, and doing the unthinkable (taking the captaincy off GAJ and giving it to ROK) cost me the win. It was always a silly move IMO. GAJ is the only player in the comp who (if fit) is absolutely incapable of lodging a sub-100 score. Everyone else, as good as they are, it's at least possible for them to score a 90-odd.

This reads alot like last year with his knee and finger giving him trouble again. Unfortunately for Chad owners i would be concerned that once Ports season is over, more then likely this week, Chad may be sweapt under the carpet again. I know the article says end of the year, however i see nothing that Port can gain playing Chad any more and the development of the eyounger guys may be on the cards.
IMO Chad has looked really out of place this year.

I made Rok VC and left Ablett as Captain ... a last minute change of mind. My opponent had Rok as Captain and Ablett VC ... I won by 9.
I learned that lesson early in the season ... I missed his 200+ game making Kane Cornes captain instead.

Rance on an extended bench, but all of your wishes came true. Similar for me with the 3 G's back (Grimes, Gilbee, Grima) - so go from 2 donuts last week to a playing reserve in the backs. 7 days is indeed a long time in footy.

Has been a great week of team selections for me though. Stevie J coming back tops it off as it means I don't have to play M.Brown anymore.

i bloody traded steve j out last week waste of a trade...now i have to swap higgins..dunno whether to go pav, neon or wait a week, loose this game and get burton next week....bloody jurrah hurting his ankle means im gunna cop a zero this week. only got 2 trades left and 48k hence pulling my hair out

Did anyone else think that Gary Ablett seems to be staying down after hitting the deck during play? He seems to take a fair while to get up off the turf. Something isn't right. He also is picking and choosing when he wants to chase. I've seen some very lazy attempts recently.
Also think Jimmy is still sore. Didn't see one second of the game he played last week, except the crucial point of course on the news. So I have no basis whatsoever in saying this. He could be a late withdrawal.

Big mistake mate in trading Stevie J out when most knew that he was a dead set certainty to come back this week. Last week he was very close so I would have hung on.

It was like that before last week but if you had read certain reports they all said that he was a shoe in for this week and even Bomber Thompson said it.
Anyways I am glad I hung onto him as trades are far to valuable to be wasting on guns like Stevie J at this stage fo the season.
If you had decent bench cover then you should have been able to cover his injury anyways.
