Can anyone tell me what time the trains start to run out to ANZ on Saturday please.

Trains head to Olympic train station all the time, irrespective of sporting events.

But below is the info from their page: http://www.anzstadium.com.au/whats-on/2015/05/sydney-swans-v-geelong-cats/

he closest train station to ANZ Stadium is Olympic Park Station.

Trains depart Central every ten minutes between 6:00pm - 10:00pm, stopping at Redfern, Strathfield and Olympic Park. Lidcombe sprint services to Olympic Park will operate every 10 (ten) minutes.

Return services will operate every five minutes from 10:30pm until midnight.

Thank you very much.

I know I'm a local but can I just ask in the areas at Lidcombe marked 2p during special events do parking inspectors actually check those areas for vehicles that have overstayed? I parked near the Lidcombe station today on my way to work so I didn't have to put up with Parramatta road chaos as work finished at 6pm. Even though there was no sign with a time limit I still worry that something might happen.

Hey guys, didn't know where else to post this so I'll put it here.

I'm heading up to Sydney for the Hawks/Swans game in July (tickets already bought for me), but I was looking at getting tickets for the rugby game at ANZ stadium on the Friday night - can anyone recommend what the best seating category would be for a rugby match (cat 1/2 east/west?).

Cheers

Im coming up for the round 18 swans vs crows game at the SCG. Where are the best seats? I was hoping i could get seats at the m.a. noble stand but these may be reserved? Any other suggestions? I sat in the victor trumper stand last time and had sun in my eyes the entire match.

I was hoping one of the regular SCG goers from here would get me seats and I'd pay them back :p

Do you have a Vic membership? I think you get GA entry into 3 SCG games (subject to capacity), but it may be best to upgrade to a reserved seat. Brewongle stand is the best but also the most expensive category.

The MA Noble is in the Red Zone, it's unreserved seating, I'm not sure if Vic members are able to buy guest passes into this area though. Ask around a little closer to the time, one of us may have a spare.

Thanks for the info. I am a vic member and you are correct, i get ga access to three games but i am coming up with my old man and my uncle so i want to book seats.

I actually did a little web surfing last night and decided on the Brewongle stand and booked seats so im glad you said that!

Heading up to the Sydney/Collingwood game aswell. Got myself a ticket in Bay 8. Will be the first time I've been to the S.C.G so pretty excited.

Don't know of this has been asked yet but I know in Melbourne you need those scan on train/bus/tram cards to travel around, do you need one of them in Sydney?

You don't as you can still buy paper tickets. Per trip Opal is cheaper but you might have to work out how much you're going to be traveling and how much would be left on your card (although you can get a refund of the balance before you leave).

Unless catching buses, you're better off just buying tickets from machines. But heaps of buses are Opal Only therefore the caveat earlier

That's not true, train fares are cheaper under Opal than buying paper tickets.

And all buses still accept TravelTens and prepaid paper tickets.

Hi, we are flying in at lunch time, is there enough at olympic park to fill an afternoon pre game? I am thinking there must be an olympics museum or something?

Depends how much you love to walk around. The Olympic Park area is lovely to walk around. Most of the museums in Sydney are in the city. I do recommend walking around the Olympic Park area though

No museum but there are Olympic mementos like the cauldron around the place you can visit for free.

There's other stuff to do like hire bikes to explore the precinct, also a skate park if that's your thing but given the weather forecast I don't think it will be suitable.

Otherwise hang about in the city and then catch one of the quick trains to Olympic Park before the game.

Thanks guys, is it forecasting rain then? What kind of crowd can be expected? Is it easy enough to move up the back undercover if your getting wet down the front. We wanted to sit near North Fans so just picked the end the club said the cheer squad was, its bottom level tho so probably not under cover.

Recommend a restaurant/pub at olympic park for pre game meal?

There will be some rain late in the week, and maybe a shower or two hanging around on Saturday. Usually at ANZ you have plenty of space to move and I'd expect the crowd to probably be around 35k, though that comes with a variance of plus or minus 20k.

There is a pub under the hotel near the Olympic Park station (you'll see it), other than that there isn't a great deal out there. Personally I'd go from the airport in to the city for lunch, then catch a train out to Olympic Park in the afternoon. Probably all depends on where you're staying too.

Rain starting today and lasting for 10 days if you place your trust in the meteorologists. Crowd no idea at this stage, won't get anywhere near capacity but the empty seats will be mostly in the stands and you can't get up there. There is cover right up the back for the goal ends but I'm guessing these will quite popular if it rains.

I also recommend eating in the city and catching the train out but if you really have to eat out there, the Thai near the station isn't too bad but could be crazy packed on Saturday. There's also a Ribs and Rumps out there but haven't tried it myself.
