A letter I wrote on Monday
Strangely, he hasn't replied...must be a heavy training week
Dear Mr Dangerfield,
I would like to draw your attention to an incident that happened in the third quarter of the match against West Coast. With thirty seconds left the Crows, whom you play for as a team member, dispossesed one Dean Cox of the football about 70 from the Crows goal. The spillage went to one Bradley Symes who quite clearly handpassed to small forward Ian Callinan.
Not only did you get in the way of this handpass but when Ian picked up the ball after you had fumbled the ball to the ground, you then wrestled the ball away from him. I could only imagine how your team mate Bradley Symes felt seeing his intended handpass to a team mate; whom I might add was having a quiet day and could have used the confidence that a goal brings, intercepted and then wrestled away from the intended recipient.
It is all well and good that you scored the goal yourself Mr Dangerfield but a football team has 22 players and they should all be allowed their part. Being as that is, I now have the sad news to inform you that your selfish act knocked me out of the Jag-a-goalkicker challenge. I understand that this will be a heavy burden for you to bear for the rest of your adult life Mr Dangerfield but hopefully it is something you will learn from and perhaps use as a lesson when you are doing some coaching down at Westies.
Yours Sincerely
JP
