Imagine how handy it would be to utilise Mcgovern as a damaging swing man, ala the new Hunter.
This should be his role but unfortunately, as usual, injuries once again raise their awful heads to give us the shits.

We all new what he could produce up forward and now he has proved how good he is by playing down back so next year when he is back into that swing role it will be a real weapon.

I'm not convinced Gov is going to be good enough once we face a side like Sydney (Gov on Buddy, Schofield on Tippett?!???)

Brisbane's KPFs were non existent, Ditto Carlton.

Long term he's either third tall down back against the taller sides or FF.

I'd rather him at FF. Barrass's development will go a long way in determining how we use him.

He's actually one of the most versatile talls I've seen, I can see him anywhere in the spine - FB, CHB, Ruck (in a pinch), CHF, FF. He might not be able to totally shut down one of the premier forwards but on the flip side he's likely to also generate some rebound so we at least have a chance to give as good as we get.

Honestly we have much bigger things to worry about than our defense when we next play Sydney.

Surely Gov takes the stronger Tippett and Schoey the more mobile Franklin, ala how Brown would take Franklin over Eric

Yep - given they also might have Reid stroll through there at times - I wonder whether McInnes will spell in defence as well.

I'm not worried, I just believe he's of more worth as a forward than a defender, but let's face it, we haven't seen him up against a KPF of any real merit so how can anyone say?

True, though to be fair I'm not sure we've seen him up against a KPD of any real merit either. ;)

We love a kid called Turbo,
turned chardonnay to merlot,
offer wives for him to sow.

Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a quagmire,
No remaining KPD's.

Open your eyes,
Look up to the skies and see,
He's just a tall boy, out of North Albany
Because there's no Mitch Brown, or Ezy so,
Jumping high, tackling low,
Anywhere the pack goes, doesn't really matter to me, to me.

McGovern, just killed a man,
Put a knee against his head,
Plucked a ripper, what a grab.
McGovern, the year has just begun,
So please don't let us throw it all away.

McGovern, ooh,
I'm just here to watch you fly,
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow,
Carry on, carry on, as if All Australian really matters.

Too late, your time has come,
We've got no healthy spine,
Intercepting all the time.
Goodbye, everybody, I've got to go,
Gotta watch 21 spuds and Turbo too.

McGovern, ooh (anywhere the pack goes),
I just wanna cry,
Every time I see you intercept the ball.

I see a little midfield and no healthy backs,
Jeremy, Jeremy, put the team on your shoulders.
Contested marks and tackling,
Giving forwards a shellacking please..
(Jez McGovern) Jez McGovern.
(Jez McGovern) Jez McGovern,
Jez McGovern what a goal.

He's just a tall boy, wearing the 20.
He's just a tall boy out of North Albany,
He's all we've got in this monstrosity.

No Mitch Brown or Ezy so, will you let me go?
McGovern! No, we will not let you go. (Let him go!)
McGovern! We will not let you go. (Let him go!)
McGovern! We will not let you go. (Let me go!)
Will not let you go. (Let me go!)
Never, never let you go
Never let me go, oh.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Oh, Jez McGovern, Jez McGovern (Jez McGovern what a goal.)
Matt Priddis now has a floater put aside for me, for me, for me.

So you think you can stop me from getting up high?
So you think you can block me and that I won't fly?
Oh, Turbo, can't do this to me, Turbo,
Just gotta hit packs, just gotta hit packs and deliver.

(Oh, yeah, oh yeah)

All Australian doesn't matter,
Anyone can see,
All Australian doesn't matter,
All Australian doesn't matter to me.
