Conte was the man, sitting and waiting and they f’ed it up.

Clearly they didn't want him. Can't deny he is a polarising figure.

Assuming you mean not wanting it? Cos it's widely known he knows next to no English.

Think it was a report, but I'd be surprised if he's appointed. Seems to be hanging out for the France job.

There are interviews of Zidane speaking in English. Of course he is comfortable in his native language but I am sure he can get by speaking limited English. He wouldn’t be the first manager there has ever been that can’t speak the language of the country he is managing in.

I doubt anyone is reporting accurately on it. Even the "hanging out for the France job" is media driven.

If you believe in The 'United' Way and the sort of football and philosophy they are supposed to play, Zidane and his style of football suits MUFC a lot more than Conte IMHO.

He would also attract more world class players to the club than Conte imo (his champions league winning record as manager of Madrid speaks for itself)

I really hope Zizou doesn't get the United job, he would make them winners/a serious threat both domestically and in European as soon as next season.

The United way is prehistoric. It can **** off. The only way is through immediate progress. That's the way of the football world now.

Like all good things, it must come to an end. But boy it's been fun. Many childhood traumas have been laid to rest, especially over recent months. Ole has provided memories that I will savour forever.

When United inevitably rise back to the top, at least we'll be able to look back with a smile and say "remember when Ole was at the wheel?"

It's certainly a memory.

While he's the best available manger, he's not a yes man and is very abrasive. Boom or bust manager but I think he would have been worth the risk.

As do I. But if I made the decisions United would win the world cup of football.

Nice, if I was there reckon I could only give the Rugby a shake.

There was talk that Conte wasn't a Man United type manager. What is a United type manager now anyway? To keep them in mediocrity

Now in their 9th season since Ferguson left and they have won 1 Europa League, FA Cup and a League Cup since

The rumour was that he asked United to spend £250m in January which put Uniteds board offside. They are still searching for a long term Fergie style manager. One day they will realise that they don't exist anymore.
