The rumour was that he asked United to spend £250m in January which put Uniteds board offside. They are still searching for a long term Fergie style manager. One day they will realise that they don't exist anymore.
Another of decade searching for it before reality hits will be fine by me

There was talk that Conte wasn't a Man United type manager. What is a United type manager now anyway? To keep them in mediocrity

Now in their 9th season since Ferguson left and they have won 1 Europa League, FA Cup and a League Cup since

The Glazers prefer a yes man. They don't want someone who will shake things up. Success isn't winning trophies, it's through endorsements and sponsorships.

I'm privileged to have witnessed so much success because its not happening again for a while.

Had to be done, cya ole.

United legend as a player, horrendous manager for us though, hope the fans can seperate the two.

Not sure if that's true.

It's gone to shit lately but he's transformed you a lot since Mourinho and had you performing reasonably well in the big games before this season.

Must’ve been a difficult conversation between Ole and Mr Glazer.

Should only have ever been interim manager, he had some decent moments and yeah took over from the Mourinho mess, but ultimately not up for the job.

United is too wedded to the Fergie image of a long term manager. Must be looking a bit enviously at Arsenal though who seem to be on the right track with Arteta.

Still a fair chance it goes pearshapped for Arteta & Arsenal. We had moments of looking good under Ole with a stretch of good runs.

Has he? Mourinho had a better record and actually won trophies. Apart from the feel good factor he has never looked like a top class manager

Ole has brought through the next generation far better than Mourinho did, with Greenwood and Rashford in particular doing well. I think the Ronaldo signing was damaging in more ways than one. Everyone knew it was a bad idea but the PR was too strong for them to resist. But yeah Ole probably should have just been in for the rest of the season, steadied the ship, then moved on. Outlived his usefulness.

Rooney an outside chance? Would probably be keen to jump ship from Derby and he's actually showing himself this season to be a decent manager.

Called this before last season... only took them 1.5 years

You could predict any manager being sacked and 90% of the time you'd be right eventually.
