One ground and a couple of KPPs do not make a 93 point difference.
For the rest of the season, nothing will be easy.
Fair to say Geelong are not playing at that level currently, hopefully we are not either.

Yer i agree with you was just playing devil advocate.

I would like a detailed explanation of it see if it has any substance or how they measure it.
Pies , Crows has been going for 3 minutes and Cornes said the Pies are going at 29% kicking efficiency , CD STRIKES AGAIN

This is 100% where Heeney should play.

Total domination of the defensive beast Witherden.
Sorry.
I have a wait & see on Heeney until he comes up against the Cats next week.
Let's revisit this chat then. I'll be here because I know what will happen.
At best he will kick 3 behinds.

Biggest difference in winning and losing margins in a season
264 - SYD 2023 (171 & -93)
262 - syd 1987 (163 & -99)

lets hope we don’t go back to the bottom 5 team we have beam most of season

Need to beat someone about us

When I read terms like "witches hats" and "training run" I feel that does a considerable disservice to the effort the swans put in last night.

You can only play the team in front of you. However the intensity at the contest, the tackling and the overall pressure was elite last night.

It was an enjoyable win, but we were allowed to do whatever we wanted by the most inept side we have ever played. They literally (ok figuratively) were witches hats. They couldn't tackle, couldn't chase, couldn't defend, couldn't run with the ball, couldn't string 2 passes together.

Papley was able to keep clunking contested marks. Clarke and Fox looked like dangerous forwards. Florent and Parker were sidestepping out of tackles for fun. Hickey was running through them in a straight line. It was so easy. Any team would have looked like world beaters against them yesterday. Buddy would have kicked 7. Stephens would have looked like a star. Hayward would have been dominant.

It's true you can only play what's in front of you, but WC were so incompetent that I don't think we can really take anything out of that performance. It was awesome to see though. I don't think we'll ever win by 171 points again in my lifetime.

And some bagging Papley

I just think we can slighty temper Armatey holding Bud out.

Buddy missed the two witches hat games. (Hawks, Today)

Armatey kicked 8 in the two, was in and out of both games, did it in patches, rest of the year he has 3 goals from 5 games.

Next week if Buddy is fit think ill still back Buddy, but thats just me, I get arguements for the time together, but we can still make the 8

If Bud were there today we would not have kicked that score because we would have targeted Bud 52%. Yesterday we shared the load. No one player was targeted more than about 10% of entries. Errol kicks 3 at least one outside 50 would have been a pass to Bud if he were there.

We have an unhealthy reliance on Bud. If we did not have that when he plays then we would do far better. But players automatically look for him as he was a superstar. Sad. If he plays next week and we direct over 40% of inside 50 to him we lose. If he plays and we temper that to 10% we win. But In can't see that happening as the Buddy Factor always takes over.

I prefer the forward line thd way it is. It is more flexible. We have far more options and say what you will about Amartey, he is playing great footy.

Buddy has been scoreless in 4 games. Kicked 6 in 2, 6 in 3. So out of 10 games. Talking about Witches Hats he kicked 3 against North. The other 3 was against GWS with I would not call Hawks Witches Hats either. They are playing some really good footy. Don't forget GWS had no Davis or Taylor and still beat us. I think anyone of our tall forwards could have kicked 3 in fact McDobald did but Amartey was jnjured

Interested in what people thought of the umpiring in this game. I can only recall two clangers in my sight, both pretty obvious frees not paid to us. They got a couple of softies and a very dodgy mark but not pulled from the rear end. I'm up the Paddington end so I don't get a good look at Randwick.
Seems arm chopping is off the agenda now.
Not a single HTB paid that I can recall but TBH I thought that was OK. Consistency is good.
Not too much whistle. Frees 20-12 our way seems about right considering we played in front all night. I would award A- or B+.
Amazing what happens when we don’t get Gianfagna or Stevic.

Armatey isn't playing great footy , he has been ok

Buddy has been ok

It's not an easy call either way , neither looked dangerous against quality opponents,

I take your point on targeting of Bud.

To me our most dangerous "talls" are Mcdonald and Heeney

I think you can, particularly the connection that was around the ground. Sometimes you just need a game like that to start something. It’s a feeling the team can take forward and some players found form. There is plenty to take from it, I mean, when we get beat we are fully accountable regardless of how good the oppo were, why can’t it work the same when we win.

We can still play our running game! Beautiful to behold
Our intensity was incredible when it had to be.
Campbell is becoming the gun we believed he would be and Logan the KPF we wished for.
Amartey is getting a little better every game he plays and, if his body holds up, he’s showing he’ll be something special too.
Gus has gone from lost to found :) Got to love a footballer who can kick with either foot.
And Parker is Parker
Maybe it was the opposition’s lack of pressure but the 2 metre handballs and the bombing into the forward line were out. And the loooong, hard handball was in.

To be fair a fringe 22 player who we all wanted dropped wouldve looked like stars against WCE. Stephens, Wicks etc

Has the same feeling of Carlton also smashing West Coast this season then crashing back down to earth a week later against the Lions. I would love to upset the Cats but realistically based on how the season went a Carlton-like situation is more likely.
