Scored 0 goals and 0 behinds.

Only got 12 disposals vs the saints. I was surprised because I thought he had a 20 disposal game. I saw him grab a fair bit of the ball.

Saying that.... Freo kicked 17 goals vs the saints and a bunch of blokes kicked 2 goals.

Last week vs port he got 2 or 3 goals and was marking them from anywhere. Lobb kicked 5 vs port to help us get over the line.

As it stands now so far.

Tabs has kicked 18 goals and 3 behinds from 9 games.

Don't think he will repeat his 2021 stats of 37 goals from 16 games.

I can see him repeat his 2020 stats of 29 goals and 13 behinds from 16 games.

6 more regular season games to go.......

I noticed he got rated as poor by several critics. I was happy with his game, he continues to provide a great outlet from defence and has improved his marking consistency.
Yeah he didn’t get a goal that game but he also wasn’t required to be a massive focal point ( with Lobb being career best form). He is building confidence in his body and there are some massive games coming up where we will see him back at his best.
Love the balance of the team when he is playing.

A dozen disposals , 5 marks and to me appeared to have a role where he was was to play more down field than just in the forward line.
He like Walter may have had quiet games by some standards, but played the role they were given. I thought Walters applied a load of pressure without getting a heap of ball.

I thought he played decently. Clearly wasn't the target he sometimes is and didn't hit the scoreboard, but between he and Lobb always gave the defence an out and his skills were good (the pulled kick to Fyfe).

Thought he played a pivotal role. As they always bang on about in the commentary box, being able to take a contested mark on that kick down the line is crucial and tabs did that very well.

That kick into the man on the mark near the D50 when Saints were coming in the 3rd was soooo Tabs....

Shame we aren't playing Essendon again, reckon he'd reach 40 for the season otherwise. Hope he gets a clean run at it one of these days.

2 goals and 2 behinds from 11 kicks and 2 hand passes.

Solid game again. Frustrated he missed that set shot at quarter time.

Very important cog in the forward line.

He nails that shot at quarter time, I don't think we lose from there. Not his fault at all that we lost, however. The team were mostly mediocre after quarter time. He also took some damn good marks

That QT shot killed his momentum, if he'd kicked it we would have kicked ourselves away comfortably I imagine, no point dwelling on hypotheticals though.

Thought he was serviceable nonetheless.

I thought we kicked the next two goals after that though? From memory Freddie should've been putting us 5 goals up, kick to him wasn't great though, then he gets stepped around by Hickey. Ball goes straight up the other end and it's a three goal game instead. That was the momentum changer.

Correct, however, it took us a while to get the first of those two (8 minutes). Regardless, the lead would have been a lot harder for Sydney to chip back at in Q3 and Q4

I also think weight should be added to Sydneys goal just before the end of HT - think it may have even been a dodgy free in the middle. Two massive momentum killers for us

You add Tabs' goal at the end of Q1 and take away Buddy's jammy goal just before HT and we have a 4-5 goal lead and probably don't lose from there

That was Lobb's error, over cooked the kick, he did that a couple of times, easy kicks that should have hit a player in space, but he kicked them too long and high and cause the turnover.

Walters had a few uncontested turnovers as well, miskicks and the ball went the other way quick smart.

Always been a supporter of Taberner, just check my history in here and elsewhere - but if we're losing Lobb and Walters is cooked, it's time to bundle up Taberner with them and move past all three for the future of our forward line. Taberner is garbage up the field and is a liability through his availability anyways.

Treacy + Amiss from Round 1 next year. Fyfe, Darcy, Jackson, Logue can all be the other talls / support.
