I for once actually agree with Lyon. That team was a pile of sh*t.
I doubt the players will even take the criticism on board, it'll be "Oh he's just a senile old man who doesn't know what he's talking about." And they'll continue to pretend like there's nothing wrong at all.

agreed. that effort was almost as bad as shagging your best mate's wife and then crying mental illness to keep everyone off your back. I am hoping for a miraculous return to health for the Dockers similar to Lyon's return from illness and back to his well paying job criticising everyone else's efforts while he got what he wanted and everyone left him alone.

AFL great Garry Lyon has taken aim at the Dockers, labelling the side that lost to Melbourne “as weak a Fremantle team as you’ll ever see”.
It’s harsh criticism for the Dockers who failed to kick a goal in the opening term, giving the Demons a five-goal head-start at the MCG.
Fremantle ended up winning both the second and third terms before falling to a 22-point loss.

Speaking on SEN, Lyon had some harsh feedback for the Dockers in round one.
“I thought the game was horrible,” he said.
“I was surprised at just how undermanned Fremantle were.
“That Fremantle side was just a real poor side and yet in the first five or 10 minutes, they had an opportunity to put four or five goals on the board … they didn’t.
“The third quarter they kicked ball out of bounds on the full three times when they went inside 50.
“That’s as weak a Fremantle team as you’ll ever see.”

FoxFooty commentator David King said Fremantle needed to respond at home against GWS this weekend, or be out of the running for finals by round two.
“If you start 0-2, there’s a high likelihood you’re not playing finals,” he revealed on the First Crack podcast.
“Since 2010, 58 teams have started 0-2.
“Only five have made finals — Dogs last year, Essendon in 2019, Magpies in 2018 and Sydney in ‘14, and ‘17.
“No one’s won the flag starting 0-2.”

Lyon and King are right, but as an aside, how come every single negative comment about Freo in the media becomes its own article in the West?

(Rhetorical question btw)

He gets it.

Okay, Gary. Looking at the team sheet the day before didn't give you any clues, mate? Not even doing your job and looking at our injury list? Some sort of pundit he is.

The guy's life didn't give you a clue as to what kind of pundit he would be? Hehe

It was curious that Sport FM introduced a new 3 person breakfast team - then after the first week Wayne Clark on goes on a holiday. Clark comes back and Hagdorn is gone for good.

Surprised? Uhhhhhhh....there’s a website called afl.com.au that posts the injury lists of teams every week. Ya might want to check it out. Real “investigative journalism”.

After round one we were down 16 players. I assume he’s gonna be “flabbergasted” as to why Freo doesn’t have a forward line against the Giants.

What a dope.
