Negativity is all that some posters haveGuys, they just won the BGT for the first time in 10 years - no idea why some go for the downer scenarios for later down track. Enjoy the moment.

I don't think we've won the Basil D'Oliveira Trophy lately - largely because we're not England or South Africa.
Put it this way, if the selectors agreed with Langer that we shouldnt unsettle the change room and stick with MM for game 5 then we would be lamenting a 2-2 series draw.Is it going too far to suggest that Webster's selection saved the series for us?

Langer is stupidPut it this way, if the selectors agreed with Langer that we shouldnt unsettle the change room and stick with MM for game 5 then we would be lamenting a 2-2 series draw.
Webster was simply outstanding and close to the most influential player (hard to go past a 10 wicket performance). Both time he came in under immense pressureespecialy in the 1st innings and allowed us to post a score on par with India rather than the sub100 score we would most likely ha e scored if MM was playing.
Bowling 12 overs or so for sfa runs also allowed our main quicks the rest they neededto ensure they bowled with impact each time.
Then to top it off he kept his head and brought it home with a 39 no. I think he now averages 98.
I think he will be part of the set up for some time. He Head and Green should make up our middle order.
I don't think he's stupid but he's loyal to a fault.Langer is stupid
What he say?Bit of a meltdown from Gambhir in his post match comments.
He looks a better player than I gave him credit for. That's as good a debut as you could wish for and like you said, his bowling output was most helpful even if he only took one wicket (plus two dropped). Batting-wise he looked very assured both front and back.Put it this way, if the selectors agreed with Langer that we shouldnt unsettle the change room and stick with MM for game 5 then we would be lamenting a 2-2 series draw.

Andrew McDonald's comments were a bit off as well I thought.India coach labels Aussies 'soft' amid Konstas furore

True. His stubborn backing of Simpson was triggering for meI don't think he's stupid but he's loyal to a fault.
If they had of rested starc who was obviously cooked and played jhy , Webster wouldn't have needed to bowl so many overs .Put it this way, if the selectors agreed with Langer that we shouldnt unsettle the change room and stick with MM for game 5 then we would be lamenting a 2-2 series draw.

Lol, it's a tough sport played by tough men also Konstas shouldn't be talking to Bumrah.India coach labels Aussies 'soft' amid Konstas furore

Gahmbia thinking kohli's shoulder barge on konstas is tough men playing tough sport ?Lol, it's a tough sport played by tough men also Konstas shouldn't be talking to Bumrah.
I'm fairly sure Gambhir's comments were in reference to Ronald McDonald saying this in the presser after Day 1:
“My conversation to (Konstas) was just around whether he’s okay. Clearly the way that India celebrated that, it was quite intimidating,” McDonald told reporters at stumps on day two.
“To have an opposition swarm the non-striker like that, we have got a duty of care to our player to make sure he’s okay and in a head space to go out the next day and perform.”
So to be fair, I think GG might have a point with some of what he said.
“It’s a tough sport played by tough men,” Gambhir said.
“You can’t be that soft, as simple as it can get. I don’t think there was anything intimidating about it.
