I know Payne is a kid, but I'm sorta sick of watching other teams mid season picks either come in and play AFL footy straight away or dominate state league footy and add immediate depth, at worst.

And Goad...it's like he's actively avoiding the footy. I sorta hope it's that. Because to get it that few times a week in this day and age is just weird.

patience, comrade, patience. Teakle has come in straight from the MSD and is going ok, Dawson has taken 18 months but is now looking best 22, so it's not all 'woo is us'.

As for Goad, he's playing KPD to keep him out of harm's way in the ruck while he physically develops, a role I suspect he has never played. A good pre-season and he'll be #1 VFL ruck next year

Fair enough. Not a particularly patient footy person these days, but you make fair points.

Payne is playing his first few games of VFL football, he's not exactly built like Tarzan either, despite being a pretty hard and tough kid.

He was recruited for the future, not the following weeks. Teakle has provided everything people should have wanted following the MSD.

People might be sick of it, but it was the right call, he's also someone that has filled a list need around a pacy defensive forward.

It's not an easy position to play either, knocking out 17 possession 1.1 game in your first few VFL games is nothing to sneeze at.

Remembering he's younger than all of McKercher, Goad, Duursma and Hardeman, he's only 4 weeks older than Will Dawson who is one of the youngest players in the AFL in 2024.

How's payne been going?
Always thought North should have taken blight.
Hope payne can prove me wrong and be a suitable replacement for Zoohar if he leaves.

Now, our VFLW team are showing the way. They’re into the GF against the Bulldogs!
No they play in 2 weeks against the winner of dogs and willi game this weekend

But back on the vfl team we sit 14th, that 10th and final wildcard round spot is up for grabs, 2 points off it

Game against swans this week is huge as the run home is hard and only against top 10 teams

Ah, I was wondering why I couldn’t see the GF fixture in the app. Thanks.

It will take a major effort for the guys to make the cut.

I’m a bit disappointed in our VFL performances in the last few weeks. I thought we could’ve win a couple of extra games.

For the first time in years, our injury list is looking very good at this point of the year outside of the CCJ/Goater/George LTI's.

The last few years we've had 6-7 with the cue in the rack for the remainder of the year.

With Wardlaw back, another will be dropping down.

The VFL team should be hitting the end of the season and potentially VFL finals with a fair bit of speed.

Forget about Taylor Goad for the next few years, don't spend a minute thinking about him, just let him develop in the VFL and when he bursts on to the scene you can say, "Where the f*ck has this guy been, I didn't see this coming" because when he's ready to play AFL he will be good, very good.
