It was a grim, dark struggle back in those days.

I remember being so hopeful on the day of the '89 GF, believing, knowing we had GAS on our side, and thinking how the club's fortunes could turn around if only we could win.

It was a bitter result.

I remember sitting back after the game and despondently thinking 'if not now, when??'

I often wonder if he's actually faster than an in-his-prime David Wojcinski. Dave himself never won the sprint - did he ever compete?

Past winners - a few Geelong players there!

Depending on selection if we make the Grand Final, Oisin Mullin would have to be a huge chance to win the sprint
