It's not really on public record Balony_pony16, but the talk was our first round pick this year and our first round pick next year. The team went over on the last day to try to get a deal done but apparently GWS were not going to let him go under any circumstances (well, maybe barring Fyfe trade)
There was talk of a player trade being offered as well, but no confirmation.
End of the day GWS were entitled to stand their ground but blind Freddy could see it would end up in tears - hopefully it's not the end for a promising young guy.
From memory we offered 22 and next years first rounder.Rumour of a player being thrown in were rife but denied by Young and the club.

There are some SERIOUSLY Freo obsessed guys in that thread. You have the typical Eagles flogs, the offended St Kilda guys because of Ross, and some Geelong guys who can't handle the fact that we have made them our bitches. But some of the others are equally feral and I'm not sure who has sprinkled sand in their collectives vag1nas!

I find eagles fans are pretty understanding of freos position with the Cam thing. It seems to be Geelong and saints people who are mad at Fremantle over this for some reason even though it has nothing to do with them. Not many mad GWS fans because GWS fans don't actually exist.

I'd say that Sheedy had a big hand in that. He's gone out of his way to make life for Freo since the Harvey sacking. As for Gubby, well the less said, the kinder it would be for cretinous flog

I'm still laughing at Pavilion103?? who was being an absolute flog in final at Geelongistan. Trolled so much he got thread banned by half time after ignoring repeated warnings. Kept on goading Freo supporters and asking if we could possibly make a game of it so he could really enjoy their win.

Two end of first rounders aren't good enough because the draft is weak.
Because we should totally be tanking for picks and then only offer them to other clubs in strong draft years.

I love being vindicated, I told anyone that would listen that Cam will walk away this year and have time off. No one in the office thought it would come to that.

Egg on the face of GWS management and a lesson for all AFL teams to take player welfare seriously.
I can proudly say Fremantle (at face value) shine in that department.
GWS have failed miserably in their arrogance and unfortunately at the detriment of a young man who was asking for help.
Buddy Franklin's honesty has gone such a long way towards giving other players not in the right head space (pardon the pun) to have the courage to give a finger to the all Aussie Male bravado BS. It's bravery in my mind to have the balls to ask or seek help.
Good on ya Cam!
