PIEMAN RESULTS Round 7 v Hawthorn

WB 14.10 94
Haw 9.11 65

Nine goalkickers:
Naughton (4), Lobb (2), Ugle-Hagan (2), Scott, Johannisen, Williams, Daniel, English, A. Jones

So it was nice to be able to chair Bont off AND sing the song with him in a milestone game. Bank the win. Move on.

Rollovers and Subs

There were 16 rollover teams and they filled seven of the top eight positions! Maybe the rest of us are just trying too hard?

Substitute order was Williams, Naughton, Treloar, Bont but only Williams was needed.
Of those 16 rollover teams two required subs and they both benefited from it:
  • SayerTheCreator had 2x Libba which became 2x Williams (returning 46 pts)
  • Shacf501 had 1x Libba which became 1x Williams (23 pts)
Here's the final distribution of selections for Rd 7 (after rollovers and subs):

The KELVIN

It was a close contest this week. It only broke open with that late drought-breaking goal to Arty. Anyway the choccies went to Foxman98 (137) narrowly from Bulldog rick (134) who was the only one of the top 8 teams to post new selections this week. Solid effort from SayerTheCreator to be close up with 130.

No Chumps this week but six teams got 4 out of the 5. Treloar and Weightman let a few down. :(
There were 25 attempted chumps out of 46 teams.

The mean score was 69.04 and the median was 67.

The PIEMAN

First season player Bulldog rick is carrying all before him. He has become our new leader 15 points ahead of Boyd oh Boyd and Shacf501 who are tied for second. They have a 34 point break on Charlie Bucket. However it's still very tight from fourth all the way down so the order could get shaken up very easily.

Pieman Player of the Week

Aaron Naughton gets due recognition for his four goals with PPotW. He just beat JJ and Caleb for the honour.

The best possible score this week was 203 which you could have got with a Chump of Naughton, JJ, Daniel, Scott and Lobb (including a bonus of 58).
The best possible non-Chump score was 158 with 3x Naughton and 2x JJ. So not a bad effort from the top 3 this week.

Pieman Player of the Year

Bailey Williams is still truckin' on with a handy lead. No more horsin' around!
Naughton is now starting to look more like delivering another 50 goal season if he stays healthy.

What do I get if I win the rising star dogwatch?
Oh, an extra sachet of sauce ... and a big target on your back.

Naah, keep it up mate, you're showing how it's done.

Not picking A Jones this week for the first time since his debut - so everyone else can safely pick him for his 4 goals. :rainbow:
You campaigners are all welcome

i think bont not kicking a goal was just plain disrespectful to this fine competition and its practitioners
Not to mention some bloke's 200th game for the club. Totally disrespectful.

Pieman Handicaps Rd 8

I probably should know the answer to this.

I've had Williams in my team for the past few weeks. Do I get his new handicap if I choose to keep him, or do I get his handicap as it was when I first named him?

No you get whatever his handicap is this week. No “capturing” a handicap value.

RandomDog persists with this crazy notion of multiple Liam Jones's:

Daniel
L Jones
Baker
Naughton
L Jones
I guess one day Liam will take a mark at CHB and get two successive 50m penalties allowing him to have a set shot from inside the 50.

On that day RandomDog will walk away with a very tasty Kelvin.
