Hawthorn probably want to wear their all brown 100 year anniversary shit fest for Gather Round. So the AFL has decided we can't wear our home gear, and instead of wearing white for a home game, we'll be in a retro teal piece of rubbish.

Just like when we played Hawthorn during Sir Doug Nichols Round, and they went with a mostly dark brown top and we ended up wearing a white version despite playing at home.

I think as far as Power era throwbacks go this one is fine. It looks awful but its at least bordering on kitsch and more importantly its linked to the last year we had any sort of success. Particularly if it is for gather round and all the clubs have been told to go with alternate designs for it then I don't see it as an issue.

However every other design they could run after this is both aesthetically awful and linked with our movement to loser club status. So this is where they should leverage our history and start running with some Magpies throwbacks. Get some prison bar variations happening. If anyone complains, kick up a stink, point to how every other club is allowed to run with heritage designs, run with different colours, etc. We're always going to get some sort of primetime game during heritage round, so get the bars out there.

...so you know what instead will happen if we're going to throw it back to this remember how great 2007 and 2008 were power fans?

Yeah this is my worry. A lack of attention to detail which ruins the whole thing.

They stuffed up the Tri-Bolt and the SBS twice so I have absolutely zero confidence in their ability to get these things right.

I’ll be in the minority here but I love that lightning bolt monstrosity. Probably due to nostalgic attatchment as I was in the 10-12 year old age bracket when we were using it. Haven’t bought Port merch in years but will definitely be picking this up.

So I won’t ’old man’ it,

But I’ll always be pissed off with any guernsey when we haven’t sorted the PB’s.

If we wear it instead of the PB’s in a showdown, that will be my line in the sand for never going again.

I think there has been a quiet agreement regarding the prison bars. I think we’ll be wearing it for our all home showdowns going forward. And that’s likely as good as it’s going to get.

I don't really have a problem with a novelty clash guernsey provided you've got the home guernsey right.

Gimme the photobolt as a clash with the PB's as a home and i'd be much, much happier than I am know with the failurechevrons in different colours home and away.

I’d go even further and change the home guernsey every year too, leaving the Prison Bars as the only constant and the one “true” Port guernsey.
