Big positive would have to be the crowd, yeah I know Carlton fans would have come in numbers but to get 25k is still a good effort for a side not doing well.

Great turnout from the QLD public!

Rain probably cost us another 2,000 I reckon but a decent enough crowd nonetheless. Saturday Twilight ftw.

Q-Clash should bring in the punters as well. Our last Saturday Twilight for the year.

+1 for the Saturday twilight timeslot. Bigger crowds, more families can come along (future supporters), not to late, not too cold and we seem to play better footy in that slot as well. Can watch the footy at a pub before the game and sit back at home to watch another game afterwards.

We should only play at 7.40pm if we're on FTA in Melbourne.

More of that 4.40pm Saturday slot next year please.

I'd love more but 3 out of 22 is pretty generous considering there are 18 teams.
Apparently most Melburnians prefer having either afternoon or nights, not an in-between (would also make more sense as it means locals and tourists can go to two games in one day if there's an MCG day game and a Docklands night game).

If what I said above is wrong, it would make more sense to tweak the Saturday times so there is two twilight games and one night game instead of two nights and one twilight (make the night game a stand alone slot, meaning national exposure, so we'd only play at that time against big teams).

The broadcasters would lose their minds if that happened. Prime time = money time.

I remember early in the season there were times when th opposition would get the ball over the back of the defence near the middle of the field and just run into an open goal.

This hasnt happened for a while and it shows that our understanding of the defensive part of the gameplan we are starting to understand better and execute faster.

As horrendous as our season has been to date, we're only three wins away from being equal eighth. Of course there's no chance of finals, but there is a very good chance of improving our ladder position to around the 13th -15th position. Games coming up against Western Bulldogs and the Giants. Think we'll have a good shot at getting another two wins in the next fortnight. Suddenly we're not that much of an on-field basket case.

Our smaller players around HF getting more involved. Zorko kicked 2.2 or 1.2, green had about 2.3. That is significant scoring shots being generated. Paps also having a couple of pings. Would be good if we coukd get a couple more marks inside 50, although west going down robbed us of some height. At least we arent relying on the talls to kick our goals, and our defensive structures is obviously generating shots for the smaller players.

We had some good run and overlap as well, our leading was much better. Bombers and blues games much more consistent, ignoring north game due to injury and sickness.

I was very pleased to see Merrett have a great game. He's had a quiet year (don't think he's been 100% fit) but really turned it on at both ends of the ground (as well as the rest of it in the ruck) on Saturday. Welcome back, big guy.

Rog really did a great job. I remember 1 boundry throw in during the 3rd he looked totally stuff, I dont think he even got into position to contest the ruck. Showed a lot of heart in the 4th, really stood up as a leader on field.

I mentioned elsewhere that Rog seems to have recovered some of his pace and burst speed. His best game all year.

He has a history of building slowly into top form. Takes him a little bit longer to get going these days with his age and the fact he is a genuine utility that gets moved around a lot, but at his best he is still a weapon. Were a few posters savaging him early in the season but I had faith he'd come good.

Think a few of our seniors have all been similar this year.

Adcock, Patfull and Rog all had slow starts but are now starting to get back to their best.

Senior players or not, they are still learning and adjusting as well. Defenders especially have had it tough this year but are finding their feet and working into some form. Confidence also growing helps.

That is the best I have ever seen the paddlepop. In all the colours of our jumper (that I liked), you did not notice the damn thing.:thumbsu:

I must admit I thought our dreamtime jumper was the worst i saw over the weekend. The dot artwork was fine but the Lions over it just looked completely out of place, hopefully that changes next year as well. A great win, nice to see Hanley play really well through the middle, I agree Paparone must be close to getting a nomination.
