I don't think anyone thinks that there aren't huge issues in some communities but a huge part is disfunction that was created by poorly thought out policy in the past. Taking people from their families and institutionalising them, molesting them in some cases, removing them from their culture and land, not even considering them proper citizens until the 1960s.

It's not like "just get over it" and move on is an answer now. Psychology acknowledges generational trauma that gets passed through DNA. There are no easy answers but not trying to do something is also not a great option. Otherwise it just continues a broken cycle.

The voice isn't going to fix everything and maybe nothing but it gives them some feeling of agency in their own affairs. Aboriginals used to have to apply to move around to their protectorate in current living generations.

We helped create the mess so own some part in helping to fix it IMO.

I'm not advocating for a no vote.

I'm yet to really look into it. I will before I vote though and then I'll make a decision.

How much boost are you running? There was a guy not far from me with an XR6T putting out 650Kw, appeared in some car mags.....

Atm it's standard factory, believe me it's been hard to not twerk it as its easy done
I haven't touched under the hood at all
I've started the other more important stuff like bushes etc
The rear end is done
Front end next
Then brakes etc
Then touch the engine

They're pulling 1200plus Kw from these sixes but that's an endless money pit

I'll be happy at 400 to 500 as a daily

I take issue with the concept that something that is holistically intended to be beneficial for your fellow man needs selling and the concept that you as an individual have no responsibility yourself but I also get your point.

Yeah but we haven't created a society where everyone has comfort and leisure to consider the needs of their fellow man. We've created one where many - especially the proletariat - are pitted against each other in a struggle to survive. Not surprising that people can't see past their own needs in that situation.

I get that but what if your own needs are impacted by a yes vote?

It’s a fundamental issue I take with those that oppose it.

In any event, I did note that I get your point, it’s just shitty that someone needs this sold to them. Also worth noting if all the information people want was promoted then the yes side would be accused of shoving it down our throats, so they’re really on a hiding to nothing either way.

Yep, the yes case was always going to be hard to make. As I said before, they should have just legislated The Voice body and had a referendum on symbolic constitutional recognition. Would have been a better outcome without rancorous debate.

The knowledge class cannot see the habits and values that make their life — curiosity, willingness to change, reflection on received truths etc — as only one way of living, among others. “If you don’t know, it’s OK to vote No” is a perfectly legitimate conservative judgment to make. There’s no point attacking that general principle when you’re trying to explode its specific argument: by establishing that there’s nothing to fear from this particular initiative. The disdain for political caution — in which every sense of disquiet is constructed as irrational fear — is simply progressives using the Voice campaign to buttress their own preference for the new over the old, the future plan over the messy present etc, to the detriment of actually persuading people and winning the damn thing.

It's a strange modern world. My family have been conservatives for generations until my parents. The old conservatives were staid, old fashion values, keep the ship upright and in a straight line types. Small business and self enterprise.

The right seems to have become the champions of radical free market economics and mega corporations. Throw in extreme religion and the preference of the lower classes and it's weird conglomeration.

The left started as the working classes united against the cruel moneyed who'd persecute and exploit them for their labour. It's become the choice of the educated middle classes, arts and a mix of different progressively motivated people.

Like Trump's weird mix of hippies and rednecks, it's all a weird lot of disparate groups flying under confused flags.

Yeah I generally love progress, I always think there's a better way to do things in the future and I'm not averse to blowing up the current steady state to get there.

But the progressives these days are always in too much of a hurry and expect everyone else to just agree with them and call them evil if they don't. They skip coalition building and grass roots activism and winning over hearts and minds. And then they're surprised when that causes a reaction in people who didn't really care about the original issue but really don't like being harangued and told they're subhuman.

I drive a Jazz as it's just lil ol me, and that being 850kg I imagine on a wintery day with wind gusts it'd rock a bit like the Jazz, and I could see it with fins instead of a spoiler to try and drag it down, given you could probably assist with the air cooling of the motor with some engineering involved.

Looking backwards in one doesn't seem a high priority to car about use, so long as it looks pretty...

Jazz are a clever design , they really manage to shoehorn the engine in, so that most of the car is accommodation and luggage. It makes a lot of sense but it turns out people love huge bonnets with big fake chrome grills all over them.

Good thing is that the bottom end of the engine is solid as hell.
Loved my AWD Territory Turbo.

As someone that drives a Mustang, I'm going to simply slip past this and leave you quietly admiring the understated yet effective engineering of the Honda Jizz.........

Ever wondered why the hands on every clock move in a clockwise direction?
