Maybe I'm naive as I know nothing about them, but I didn't turn up to this show expecting to see an older woman strip to nothing but a nun's habit and stimulate herself with a microphone

Also it's not often I go to a gig and am below average in terms of age haha

Yeah wasn't the youngest crowd!

KK used to rollerskate around nude, she's toned it down a lot. I'd go there though.

anyone else thinking idiocracy is playing out in real life.

Elon has done a deal with Trump in return for his support. As part of that Elon is going to co-chair the new department of government efficiency. aptly named D.O.G.E, because Elon finds the name amusing.

but here's the funny part. the department that's set to review government departments to find waste and role duplication is going to be head up by co-chairs.

the media release announcing it is like reading satire. its truly bizarre.

Haha yes, I've thought that for a long time. The state of the world might be funny if it wasn't so disappointing and terrifying.

Maybe it's my own fault for giving humanity too much credit, I used to be optimistic that one day we'd get our collective shit together, but in the end we're all just corruptible, greedy, short-sighted and easily manipulated animals.

There's a profound philosophical quote that has always stuck with me, ever since it was first spoken by a talking dog named Mr Peanutbutter:
"The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't the search for meaning, it's just to keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead."

That's what gets me through my days. So crack another beer and bring on the footy :beercheers:

Have a look into the Peter Thiel and Musk stuff. The technocracy will do all the shitty stuff Trump claims to hate. People will have biometric scanning and a cashless economy. He's going to savage all the public service jobs for AI to take over and cut taxes and regulation for big business and billionaires. He's more dangerous than Trump.

Then packages it all like it's a snack food for 5 year olds. At least you can feel like he thinks you are special needs while he screws you over I guess.

i think he will do fine and will clean up
id rather him in than the swamp

I think he'll just be a new swamp monster. They need to clean out AIPAC and some of the super PACS but they are funding them.

I was listening to a future forecaster who was saying that by 2030 most jobs will be gone over to AI. He was saying that we need to start designing a post work world but politicians are too scared of the backlash so we'll hit it unprepared. He was saying that hyper deflation from lack of human imput will occur but that we'll be in danger of using ridiculous amounts of resources as we try to consume meaning into our meaningless lives.

Thiel and Musk follow this guy called Yarvin who has joked about turning people into bio diesel and locking people in jails where they live in a simulation.

This nutter.

I don’t reckon I could cook a steak with the amount of bio diesel your lil waif rig would produce 😎

My observation is that it would be easier to replace some of those higher up the corporate ladder than those on the ground floor.

I HAVE NEW KPI , YOU MUST PRODUCE THIS REPORT EACH MONTH.
We don't have the data, the means to compile it , or anyone ( or machine ) to do it.
IT MUST BE DONE.
How do you suggest we do it.
IT IS UP TO THE INDIVIDUAL OPERATIONAL CENTRES TO DETERMINE.

The idiocracy has been around far longer than the current goings on. Look at the outgoing cabinet half made up of inept transvestites ffs.

Trump is under the control of the you-know-who’s just like the rest of em. He’s just far more entertaining.

The West is doomed, just hope Saints perform a miracle before my time is up.

I think it's a good idea.

Why not get capable people doing important jobs?

What do we think about Elons claim of clearing 2t off the budget?

I have maga mates who think he's serious and they say he's going to do it by slashing public servant numbers. Even if he sacks every civilian federal employee, that's only 300b gone.

Defence won't get cut, which means that around 40% of health and welfare spending would need to be cut to make up 2t.

I'm not worried because it's Elon, he's not actually going to review the budget, but if they cut 2t it would make the 2008 recession look like nothing.
