Years ago a mate of mine was a Council Engineer. One of the guys there went around changing all the give way signs to stop signs. My mate, observing that they shouldn't have been stop signs since they didn't meet the criteria, made him change them all back.
Now most places wouldn't have done that.
Put stop signs everywhere where you don't need them, and you end up with people ignoring them.

My L - Plate son was driving on the freeway the other day, i'm thinking wtf, why has he slowed down to 80. There was a stupid advisory speed posted, and of course everyone else was ignoring it because it was stupid.

People commonly ignore road work limits ( at a risk of fines ) because they know there is no-one there working.

Victoria in particular need to stop putting stupid instructions on the road , and then maybe people will follow what's there.
I have international colleagues over regularly and no matter their country of origin they unanimously say our traffic regulation is insane. Some refuse to drive here because of it.

Who the feck at this club approves the members merchandise, last year Sincs was stinks and this year Roma smells like he belongs in the men's urinal at Marvel,
No fecking chance it's going in my car , in fact it went straight to the bin
I always throw those things in the bin.

1000% agree.
It’s bloody awful.

Agree with most of what you wrote, but when I’m driving up a fairly main suburban road and people turn out of the side roads without stopping, o even yielding either right in front of me, or worse, cross in front of me to turn right, it pisses me off. Especially when often there is either no car behind me, or maybe one or two. It wouldn’t kill them to wait. Im happy to have the camera recording it in case an accident occurs.

The impatience and selfishness on the road is getting worse.

Oh yeah i totally don't get that.
I was sitting behind someone at a side road one day, thinking, there's a huge gap why isn't he going. ( we were stopped so the sign wouldn't have mattered ).
Flog waits until its too late, then pulls out in front of the oncoming car. Seriously WTF?

Just before Christmas, my daughter was driving 80km/h, a guy to her right in a turning lane, suddenly changed his mind and point blank pulled in front of her.
She swerved to the left, knowing there was a car there, but not wanting a 70km/h front on impact.
Car on the left saw it happening and moved hard against a concrete barrier, so they both shared a lane without hitting.

Good news on this occasion, car behind my daughter, turned on his hidden blue lights and pulled over the ****er .

I hope its not considered racist, but there are countries where the traffic barely gets above 40, and you don't get anywhere if you don't pull in front of others. ( i had an indian guy telling me about traffic in india (.
I wonder if we aren't educating them well enough when they get a local license. ( I see this more as a weakness of our system than a problem with people from other countries ).

Reminds me of this joke

Your last point is valid.
However, I do feel that over the past few years the aggression of drivers appears to have got worse.
Covid related? Stresses of life? Not sure. But it’s not great.
Glad your daughter is ok. Would have been very frightening for her.
