watched season 1, I can see why people liked it, but strangely thought it was too violent for me. I don't mind violence, or gore, but something about that shows violence in particular didn't sit right with me lol.
I didn't see it, i thought it would be too violent. will you be seeing Season 2?

So decided I might try and do washing, went to start the car and...

Dead battery. Well not entirely dead but low enough that it restarted the clock internally so is now charging and I'm generally overdue for a service on it as is so meh. It's gone from like 140km 5 days a week since Sunbury to Box Hill wasn't a short distance for work to just general town and back and forth from laundro for a rest sequence, so was working fine last week and just not today apparently.

Anywho, how is everyones day going thus far, I just did my dishes and plan for tacos tonight since I'm marinating a chicken breast for tomorrow as I have the sauces all set up this morning to just cook through and mix with rice. Hence the dishes. Considering a drumstick ice cream...

Well, the last Taco Tuesday of '24. Buen provecho! Might as well welcome the new year in style with a bottle of Tequila.

¡Arriba, abajo, al centro - todos pa' dentro!

Have not had a drink for checks notes 20 years, so it will be likely a Portello instead, but yes that was my thought exactly.

Hope everyone has a brilliant end to 2024 and we can all bring 2025 in with hopes of a top 4 finish and hopefully not many hangovers for some of us.

Ancient Apocolypse on Netflix is very interesting if anybody likes a good archeological conspiracy about ancient civilisation.
I was in to that stuff before Ancient Apocalypse came out. It was the interview with Rogan sparked my interest to go down the rabbit hole.
I liked Hancock much better before that series came out. His incessant moaning about the establishment and playing the victim just put me off the whole thing. Shame, but l guess it changed my views on the whole human history thingy.

Hi mate

How’d the tacos end up? Messy?

I just heated up a Chicken Korma from yesterday’s leftovers.

Washed it down with a Baileys though.

So far so good, yeah? 😬

He still makes the point in the series that most archaeologists don’t interpret current evidence in the field the same way he does.

But I think that point needs to be made to the viewer so we can apply a more rigorous consideration of his ideas.

But the series is well made with good production value, he consults other archaeologists regularly and he articulates his point well while constantly reminding us that it is his view.

Very watchable.

Just read comments above about not feeling 'safe' in Melbourne.
Here's some news, for personal security, we have never been safer, in one of the safest cities in one of the safest countries on earth.
Have never felt unsafe in Melbourne, doesn't mean that I am not aware of my surroundings, but to feel 'unsafe' to me is ridiculous.
Australia was much more unsafe when I was growing up, and much more unsafe in the generations prior.
By all means take precautions ( like aforementioned dash cams), but FFS, there is no gun culture, gangs roaming the streets like in the 70's, we have a decent standard of living so no city's of homeless.

Basically to say you feel unsafe in Melbourne means you would feel unsafe anywhere in the world.

I don't really get this. If people don't feel safe today, it doesn't matter what it was like in the 70's.
Telling people who don't feel safe that it's never been safer doesn't make anyone feel better.

It's a bit loose with interpretations but still a good watch. Have you seen stuff about a place in the pacific called Nan Madol. Islanders built these artificial islands out of basalt. You can't work out how they did it. Not ancient but crazy engineering.

Where have you been hiding legend?

I think the point is that Melbourne is as safe a place as it’s ever been and if you don’t feel safe here now, you probably never will.

I don’t live in Melbourne but come down quite often. The only place I don’t feel safe is on the roads. Morons everywhere.

There is some amazing archaeological stuff without resorting to the Eric Von Daniken controversial cash-in stuff. I love it but it's junk food science. The Gobekli Tepe site and the other one I can't think of are incredible because they defy a lot of orthodoxy. They were building some pretty serious stuff before agrarian cultures were meant to exist. Indus Valley and Jomon culture are pretty incredible too.
