Watching the Derby today was fantastic. A hard fought game in front of a loud crowd on a beautiful sunny day.

I really hope the AFL tells everyone to stuff their home ground advantage, keeps the PRE Finals bye, and packs up all the finalists and sends them to Perth.

All games played at Optus Stadium. It will have the feel of Soccer World Cup or Olympics type carnival.

Considering that it is unlikely that either WA team makes it there won't be a home ground advantage to any side.

If they keep the pre final bye, it allows for all players and staff that will make the journey, plus families, to go into a biological bubble for 2 days prior to flight and another 2 days after the flight before having more than 7 days to prepare for the first final.

No bye before finals. Thinking Sydney would be the most likely to rest players. Brisbane probably not as they are a chance to pinch 4th. Dogs need a win to lock in double chance. GWS need a win. Port still a chance to finish top along with Geelong and Melbourne. Its a busy top 5, will be interesting to see how they all play it

I think we were expecting this.. already been resting players and several have come off injuries and essentially had their rest that way. Definitely interesting for some of our opponents though.

Brisbane may rest players if Bulldogs win on Friday. If Dogs win, then Brisbane can't make top 4.

Provided we make finals, best case scenario would be to finish 7th and play Sydney at a neutral venue. Unfortunately GWS won't lose to Carlton, so the next best would be to play Bulldogs.
I can't see us getting close to Brisbane, especially at the Gabba so I hope Bulldogs lose to Port.

So if we're playing Sunday would we need to do 7 days quarantine in Perth meaning we couldn't play till Sunday night if we're to make finals
I suspect the AFL would love Brisbane to finish 5th. They get their home final in week 1 and then the AFL can move the 6 clubs left to Adelaide and Perth. Maybe there is a bye before week 2 of the finals in that scenario. Or if Bris finish 4th, they get their home final in week 2 should they lose in week 1, and AFL moves the final 4 teams to Adelaide and Perth.

The GF wont be in Brisbane this year. I personally think it should be in Perth, great stadium.

However, I do wonder, as it is looking less likely to have any WA teams in the finals, as to whether the AFL schedule the GF in Adelaide due to the fact Port will finish top 4.

Got to feel fo r the Dees supporters. Not only a serious chance to make it, but to also go all the way. Yet they don't get to witness it in person.☹

So, odds suggest we’ll get round 2 with the Dogs?

Luckily for us, they are the one team in eight we have beaten…

Yep that’s the big thing, if we get there we should take great confidence in having beaten the team we are playing just 3 weeks ago, plus we don’t have to play an interstate team on their home deck.

The worst case scenario as far as venue is concerned from what I know is Adelaide, I have no idea how much support we have over there. We're neck and neck with Carlton in terms of 3rd most supporters in Perth and it seems as if we're pretty big in Tassie as well.

Pweter Harlequin Dream and anyone else from SA (sorry if I've forgotten), what's our support like in Adelaide in comparison to all the other clubs?

Lived in Adelaide for 13 years, plenty of support there. Besides, you are talking about the Dogs how many genuine supporters outside of Footscray do you think they have?

I'm not talking purely about the Dogs. I'm speaking in broad terms. But good to know, would love to get a majority Essendon crowd at the Adelaide Oval.
