Definitely.

It's not that i don't think we can beat the Eagles, because i know we can and HAVE, it's just the nerves will be unbelievably bad the entire week. But hey, i think it's a good feeling to have! ;D

i dont mind if we lose first up (finishing top4), only cos we get that loss out of the way & most of all, i recon that playing every week is good for us... unless there are major injuries to key playerS, i believe the week off puts usoff & the wait for the next game is just too long...

PS: compare the road to the GF of 2005 & 2006

I don't think it made any difference. We had no problems in the 06 PF and you couldn't blame our slow start in the GF on having a week off. I do think in 06 it was much more important for us to win the QF seeing we would have had to play Adelaide in the PF, where in 05 it probably worked out better losing seeing we would have had to play Adelaide in a home preliminary final seeing they lost their QF.

id love to play geelong first week of the finals in front of 90k+ at the g after geelong have gone 17 weeks without a loss and pressure on them for the first time this year. i reckon we could knock em off.

Yeah, i'd be happy to play either the Eagles or Cats in the QF. Both games would be massive! The next 3 weeks are all so important, we have to keep winning!

We're purely fantasizing at his point (3 huge weeks to go). But that would be a great game. It would very much be like the game we had against Port at AAMI in 2003 when Port were also runaway League leaders and unbackable favourites against us. And you can bet the boys would just love to be able to wear that sort of underdog tag on a big finals roadtrip! :thumbsu:

and you think geelong would be looking forward to playing US first-up in the finals having won 17 on the trot??? whatever they say as a club, the cats' players, individually, would HAVE to be thinking about all the doubts, all the worries, all the expectations AND "we can't keep winning, we're going to lose one somewhere"....human nature to be thinking that, and if they're not they're gonna pay for that arrogance

i'd normally like to see our opponents each week having won before playing us but in this case i'm very happy the lions got rolled on the weekend, the hype was really building behind them and it might have really taken the wind out of their sails, so we might strike them on a flat spot....but whatever state they're in, we have to win this simply because if we're gonna make a mark in the finals, or just make the top four, we have to win thse games

if we're serious contenders, then we can go unbeaten from this point, that's the feeling i'm starting to get....i do NOT want to get ahead of myself but it does seem to be falling into place......

We can all speculate, but as we all know, its one game at a time,im sure the players, have this mindset. My finals campaign started last week against the
Saints. And now we all have to focus on the Lions game, away from home in
Brisbane. New threats, younger team, older leaders Black, Power, and the Awesome Brown. I am not scared i think we can roll them, the Bloods spirit
is just kicking in!!!

If we keep winning, we will win the premiership. :D

I think a crucial game is WC vs Saints in round 21. The Saints upset the Eagles in Perth earlier this year and may be a chance to repeat the dose at home. If so, and we win all our games, then we finish second, Hawthorn third, Eagles fourth.

It's good that we have a decent percentage for a change.

Right, so what do we have to do to make the top 4 now? Well, we have to win the final two games first, but we now must rely on other results.

I think the only way we have any chance is if the Hawks lose 2/3 games (Port game and game against us) and also if the Roos lose 2/3 games (Cats game and either against Blues or Bulldogs).

An outside chance would be for Port to lose 2/3 games as well (Cats game and Freo at AAMI).

IF these results don't full our way, we should finish 5th if we win the next two game and at least get a home final.

Fingers crossed!
