Daggers would have to be an option. Played under Popa at Perth & Victory, so both know what they're getting.
He'll actually have a shot as well, not try to walk it in like the other 10 blokes on the park

Ive not seen McGree, Yengi or Goodwin try to "walk it in"

Definitely. For now, Yengi has to be the undoubted first choice. Between now and March hopefully gets a good run of games at Portsmouth.

Insane group!

We're actually not in a bad position if you play it out from here. Should we win our next two against Indonesia at home and China away (which seems very doable on paper) and Japan continue on their winning ways by beating Bahrain and Saudi at home, then we'll be at least 4 points ahead of third place (possibly more if other results go our way) going into the final two games of the third round qualifying phase. That's obviously a very good position to be in and means we probably need just one more win to seal our ticket to the World Cup.

A new challenger to Yengi at CF?

Seems to be doing quite well in Norway now. Hopefully he can take a step up to Neterhlands/Belgium/Ligue 1/Championship. Norway should only ever be a stepping stone for Aussie footballers.

I'd like to see Yengi, Mo Toure, Daggers & Borello battling it out for CF. Whoever is in form should get the gig

Why not give Daggers a go if he's in that kind of form? We seem to have a real issue scoring lately so there's probably no harm in trying someone else, or at least putting him on the bench with the intention of subbing him in.

Next two games are absolutely crucial. Two wins would see us sitting pretty as other results will take care of themselves. A draw away and a win at home, not the end of the world.
Two wins in the next window and we're just about there. We really should be beating teams like Indonesia and China so I'm quietly confident that we'll be in a good position leading into the final window of group qualification games.

Perth here's your chance to fill Optus stadium for the male Matildas

They were doing it at Docklands at least a couple of times a year in around 2015/16 - I remember as it was my first couple of years in Melbourne being able to attend a heap of games.

I think the whole mechanism has essentially been abandoned since the AFL took over ownership and the Victory chewed it's leg out of its contract there.
