If it’s mid year what was the point of keeping him on the list?
His doctor might know.bizarre they didn’t take it out at the end of last season. Why wait for Christmas? You’d think you’d plan to have him ready For round 1.
bloody Collingwood
Disappointing? It’s a preseason training session. A little perspective needed.Disappointing. If it was Adams and Sier I'd be far happier. I would like Pendles and Adz on the outside.
The body heals at different rates. Perhaps it required XX months in situ to make sure the integrity of the bone was OK? Body doesn't run to the clock of the AFL scheduling when healing unfortunately. I'm sure the club would have a preference for Rd 1 availability, as would Broomy.bizarre they didn’t take it out at the end of last season. Why wait for Christmas? CollingwoodNobody has explained why taking out the rod in his leg meant half the season to recover from..
I wouldn’t worry. Some people get a bit pessimistic.Nobody has explained why taking out the rod in his leg meant half the season to recover from..
Agree that there can be different times for he leaving but generally there would be a predictable range. The body heals at different rates. As for retaining him, he was hurt when playing for us. His best mate is also a key part of our line up and someone we've been negotiating a contract with. Tim moves back to SA and perhaps Grundy finds the pull of home tugging a little harder. Broomhead's talent has him at the grade. He just hasn't had the opportunity to get a good run at the seniors. Decisions on playing personnel are multi-faceted.
I decided to keep my rods/plates intact (Tibia). When I had the rod removed from my Tibia fracture, it was weeks - not months - until i was fully healed. The most complex part was the 15odd staples below my patella.

I would have thought the removal of the rod would have always been planned in the post season as he could play with it in and there was no need to disrupt his season.
The confusing part in the info you have supplied about a mid season return. That can’t fit with just a simple removal of the rod. Can you give a bit more background about where this info comes from
Thanks
Gee it didn't take you long to jump off Aish's bandwagon.Sound like plays like his Mate Aish then
Good news if he was running after 8 months, but just walking doesn't seem like one giant step for man. I too would love to see him back in the team.Good News. If Langers is already walking after a short 8 months ...
I miss the laconic one.
We dont know how invasive the surgery was and if there were complications.Nobody has explained why taking out the rod in his leg meant half the season to recover from..
No, I don't make injury observations, estimated return dates or feedback on a player's height (Nathan Murphy in the past, Will Kelly this week etc) on my own or, if I did, I would at least attribute them as such.It read to me like an assessment from AP based on his current progress. I think it was an exaggeration at this stage, but I suspect there’s more to his absence than the rod being removed.
Based on current training involvement it’s hard to see either of Broomhead or Langdon being match ready before Easter. It only takes another month or so of the current status quo before that prognosis becomes mid-season. Different injuries and individual recovery times are at play, but both are tracking behind Greenwood and we all know he’ll be another 12 weeks at least...
Thanks Albert. Not doubting you have sources just trying to work out why Broomy could be off for so long. Is there more to it than just the rod removal? No, I don't make injury observations, estimated return dates or feedback on a player's height (Nathan Murphy in the past, Will Kelly this week etc) on my own or, if I did, I would at least attribute them as such.
I don't have an estimated return date for Langdon by contrast, but would assume it is a while off given I have not seen him raise a canter at all this pre-season, on the field.
I share snippets, but not from whom for obvious enough reasons. But it's not from just one person. It's not in anyone's interest to name names.
I understand that you may each have your own opinion about the validity or accuracy of these things I share. That's your prerogative.
But judge what I say and see if it makes sense over time perhaps.
As an example, pre Christmas as Tay Adams was spotted in a moonboot and the doomsayers went into overdrive, I indicated that I had heard that it was precautionary and a short term injury.
Then I subsequently provided an update that he was out of the moonboot and would be back day 1 of pre-season in the new year.
These updates came from different sources. But sure enough, he was back Day 1 2020 and is showing no ill effects.
I feel like Broomy is just around for moral support these days. He's never playing AFL again, I reckon that was pretty clear from watching him in the VFL last year.
Last two times I have travelled to Melbourne to watch us play we have lost to Carlton both times. I want more than a bloody apology. I wanted blood! Lots of it.
Please, feel free to attend any time. (Sorry guys and gals, impossible to pass up......seeya)That is very harsh. Carlton , the worst
I would imagine Wednesday and Friday.Anyone know when the boys are training this week?
Yup I imagine the same.I would imagine Wednesday and Friday.
His doctor might know.
