There is a pretty scary possible timeline on the horizon, where Trump actually does all the stuff he’s promised to do plus who knows what else.

My fear is that the biggest losers will be America’s closest allies ie. Australia, UK, Western Europe and Japan and the biggest winners will be Russia, China and the gulf states. Ideologies and shared values have never counted for so little.

But trump is the most anti china guy around isn’t he?

Russia would be happy for sure but trump wants to hold china back and will actually try and do it openly

I don’t think he is anti China. He’s very much pro super power and I think he resents America’s role as a global protector. I mean, what would I know, but I see a possibility where he throws half the world under the bus.

Bezos not wanting WaPo to endorse presidential candidates doesn't mean he was for trump. He said the right thing. Just report the news. He isn't stupid. They need to be old media is dying.

It's a far cry from 2020 when every tech billionaire was removing him from platforms and squashing favourable news. If anything most sat out for this one (probably because of Elon. The anti-Jack Dorsey this time around). I'm talking about Silicon Valley. A few top dogs aside they lean heavily towards voting for democrat candidates.

Recently more countries joined BRICS and have already signed trade deals especially with China.
No one trusts the US any more.

In our domestic political culture, if the CEO of an ASX200 company called up a PM candidate during an Australian election to simply congratulate them for a successful PR stunt, and then allowed that anecdote to be repeated publicly in their campaign without clarification, it would be 100% considered an endorsement.

The things that matter to the vast majority of ordinary folk is the economy/cost of living and security and not agendas pushed by loudmouth activists and out of touch elites that have somehow attached themselves to a major political party.
