The gift that keeps on giving. All Australian will be interesting this year. If Rockliff keeps this form up then surely he makes the squad? Lots of water under the bridge before that happens but will be interesting to see. Plenty of AA mids and "forwards" having pretty ordinary years so far. From last years team so far Swan, Griffen, Selwood, Wingard, Jack, Hannebery and Watson are all well down on last years form IMO and Watson is now out for 10 weeks so you can put a line through him. The rest have time to turn it around, with Selwood being probably the closest to last season I think. Griffen would have to be ruled out by now I would have thought, given Rockliff's back half of the year didn't even get him in the squad last year, same with Swan.

We need to make a Barrett-Hamilton award for Journalism, be like the Razzies and have a ceremony.

What's the point... Hammo and Damo will just accuse us of rigging the votes... Again.

Sam rips into Boring **** **** weak footy.

“I ended up abusing (Melbourne coach) Paul Roos. I understand what he is trying to do but if he wants to oversee that crap, why not buy a chess board where he and Ross Lyon can bore each other to death?.

“They say they have a responsibility to win games. I say they have a responsibility to win games and entertain at the same time. What is happening now is foreign to the very essence of what our game was built upon.

Amen to that brother this footy is un Australian.

I don't really buy into this. It doesn't help that he lobs in the cliche that Carlton lost two games due to poor umpiring, and would without doubt refer to one or two decisions in the final terms to justify that position.

A bad game of football is a bad game of football, but I like watching Fremantle play. It's less free flowing, but they are relentlessly disciplined, and I find that tense and exciting in a different way. Basically the exact same factors that make test cricket more enjoyable (to me) than t20. I think it's reductive to argue that football is only good to watch when teams give up on defending altogether and just barrel forward. Also, if every team played like Port it would devalue the gameplan. Diversity in game styles is part of what creates an interesting competition.

I reckon crowds being down is more likely a function of other factors like the vastly more comprehensive TV coverage or the expensive food and drink at games. Not so much that Paul Roos has broken football.

We need rocky to win a Brownlow as I suspect the fun we have with that quote would be priceless.

Well according to Robbo he won't even make the bench of the All Australian team. It gets better though. Later we get to vote for the midfielders we think should be in the team. There is a list of 11 midfielders and Rocky doesn't even make that list.

The Age doesn't think that highly of him either. I think they had Priddis ahead of him. PRIDDIS of all players...

Vic bloody centric media. AFL.com draft podcast about clubs best needs highlighting three clubs from Melb in WB, Richmond and Melb. I have an understanding that we are out of sight out of mind and even though that can be to our advantage I would have assumed that ourselves, GWS and St Kilda would have been the most relevant due I our positions on the ladder. Then again maybe they think we are going to rise up the ladder in the back half.

Does anyone else find it frustrating that tomorrow night Carlton play their fourth Friday night game of the season?

Frustrating because they're really an ordinary side to watch and don't deserve the spotlight they get. I'll admit last week was a decent game but their previous two Friday nighters were pretty ordinary.

And also frustrating because Friday night footy this year has had so many fizzers and it's hard to get excited about what's likely to be another mismatch against Hawthorn.

Absolute rabble. Basket case.

Also Browny getting knocked out.

Shit club - The afl doesnt give a shit about us, the media doesnt give a shit and i bet players dont give a shit, we will ****ing lose more young talent and ****ing roll over

Venting about the lack of care for AFL anymore.

Had a blast following the premier league and A-league this/last year and even with the loss today in the World Cup - football is the worlds sport for a reason.

I still love my lions and always will, but my love for AFL is dwindling.

A genuine vent being deleted.

You're kidding right?
It's been made clear that the Vent Thread isn't here to import drama from other threads.

For gods sake Mitch Golby, you are a spectator! No point running around behind your opponent (number 33 but no doubt you've been looking at his number every time he's run away from you) and when it's your turn to go, you seem intent to turn on your heel and run away from the ball? Leppa it's just not working!!

Dont know why you all are whining about the AFL and GWS. Our players played with no heart and no brain. We've had 10 years and loads of drafts to replace Lynch and retain what was a good culture.

Really; I've never heard of that?

Can you enlighten me then what the purpose of the vent thread is if I can't vent about anything Lions or football related?
Well you should pay attention.

I don't think venting about the mods counts as being Lions or football related.

Now move on from this.
